I´m still in Columbia, soaking up rays on the Carribean coast. It´s beautiful! We´re running really low on money but we´re making it work. In little more than a week I´ll be leaving this fine country to once again return to Ecuador. Our trip will have come full circle! It´s going to be weird but i´m really looking forward to it.

When i first stepped off the plane in Quito on October 31, 2007, I didn´t speak a word of spanish and I´d never been out of the country. It was so horrible to feel like I couldn´t do things on my own, that michael had to translate everything for me. I used to nervously point to things in the store and sheepishly tell other travelers that aside from "Hola", I was basically helpless. I used to worry so much about getting lost because I wouldn´t be able to tell people where I needed to go. But now I´m a weathered and confident traveler. I´ll be able to order my cheese empanadas myself, thankyou very much. It´s a good feeling.

And every day I move closer to home. In 38 days I´ll be in the Washington, Dulles airport. In a few days after that I´ll be in Philadelphia. A month after that I´ll be in Washington D.C., getting back into the swing of things. By christmas, this will be a distant memory.

So dear friends, I hope to see you soon. This is my invitation to you: Let´s hit the closest diner we can find and drink coffee until we have to pee every 5 seconds. I´m ready!
