1) Could anyone upload Rihanna's "Umbrella"? I ask this not for myself but for Pro, who is demented and sad, ella ella, ay ay. [edit: Thanks,
offonmars!]
2) I am most likely going to be teaching a section of "International Women's Writing" next semester. (Extra money, whoo! My CV is unhireable full of teaching, whoo! Extra students OH GOD!) I'm pulling books from the syllabi of other courses I've taken, but since I don't consider myself much of an expert, I thought I would turn to my friendslist, in case you have suggestions.
The title of the course is misleading; typically, this course covers more underrepresented nations. The authors I'm thinking about assigning thus far are: Edwidge Danticat, Mahasweta Devi, Marjane Satrapi, Dorothy Allison, and Rigoberta Menchu. (I have a couple of others that I'm thinking of assigning, but I'm on the fence or have forgotten the title.) I'm particularly ignorant of poetry, but I would love to include some if you know of anyone; if you have short works that you think would serve well in an undergraduate course like this, I would really appreciate hearing from you.
