So, Star Wars is great. I love it. And I love the characters I play in it.
But there is a problem.
The characters that we have grown accustomed to are the ones we have played for years. These are the personalities that we have grown with and found ourselves attached to. Not a bad thing, but it is a problem.
Why?
Because they have become untouchable. They have become the ones that should be NPC'd. They are our supervillains or super-good guys. They can't relate to new characters. They don't "care" about other storylines because they have their own.
Why would the super Sith care about a fledgling Jedi?
Why would a long-established bounty hunter bother with a stupid, small-time smuggler?
...plus, it's summer, and no one is playing. /sigh
EDIT: I just wanted to add that part of this is everyone's desire to play TO those super-characters. There are more than a few biggie-baddies that I adore playing against. (Note: I only left out biggie-goodies because I usually am a good guy. Good vs Good doesn't usually play out.)
