(no subject)
i figure buddhists are pretty chilled out people. i need to chill out. im gonna start looking into this stuff. think im joking? haha maybe i am...or am i????
anyway in english one of the poems we had to analyze used a symbol of a two people rolling up everything they are into a ball and even tho it really was about them getting it on, my teacher said it was taken from some philosophy by plato. its cool. i like it. youre gonna like it too. wheee!
so apparently he said that everyone is born with a soul mate and that when someone is created they are created in a ball with that other person. the ball is then split in half and this is why we spend out lives searching for 'our other half.' if i can find exactly what he wrote (or his students wrote or whatever) ill add it in here......but i thought it was pretty cool bc it goes hand in hand with my belief in fate and everything. besides, its a nifty was of thinking about actually having someone out there for you and a good mental picture. anywho....
i wonder if i can believe in fate as a budding buddhist :-p more info on that to come as well :-D
