i got my laptop back after being without for over a month, i believe. even though it was my power/fan/hardware whatever i had problems with, the nice people somehow decided that they needed to wipe my hard drive (i was warned to back my hard drive up before i sent it in. how do i do that, pray tell, when i can't turn the damn thing on!?). so i have lost my pictures, music, documents, etc. key is my over 1200 music files that no longer exist on my computer but do indeed exist on my iPod, which i'm attempting to follow instructions (from
here) to extract them back to my lappy. however, even though my computer makes the sound that it's recognizing something being plugged into a usb port, it isn't showing my iPod at all. i'm about to go c-r-a-z-y! additionally, i no longer have office xp on my computer, and when i insert the dad-burned disc into my (newly-repaired) cd/dvd drive, it isn't showing up office xp, but just windows xp in general? i'm trying to return my lappy to some semblance of what it was before, but it's taking a long long long time.
