Vacation Part 6: The 4th of July

Jul 07, 2006 12:45

Monday I ended up sleeping on the sofa in the enclosed patio. The screened windows were all open, the fan was on and it was raining outside. I woke up briefly when the sun came up, but managed to get back to sleep until after 9:00 a.m. It was a much needed lie-in.

When I got up, Grandpa made French toast for me. We sat at the table, read the paper, talked, and watched the news. The shuttle was due to take off, despite a few bits of it falling off. I French braided Claudia's hair for her. We had hot white tea and cantaloupe.

Claudia and I went shopping. I needed to find a stuffed dog that Siobhan had requested for her present from Ohio. We also stopped at Origins where she bought me a back massage thingy-ma-jiggy.

We picked up Grandpa and JoAnne and we all went to the 1:30 showing of Superman. Grandpa fell asleep before the previews were over. He woke up for the last hour or so, which was the better half of the movie. I loved it!! I have always been a fan of the Superman movies though. And the new superman is HAWT.

After the movie we went back to the house and I gave myself another French manicure and pedicure. I watched Failure To Launch with JoAnne and Claudia. Dawn came over. We all watched Brokeback Mountain. I said goodbye to Dawn. JoAnne took our picture...

JoAnne and I popped in My Fair Lady, but I doubt if I really watched more than 5 minutes of it. We talked until after midnight again.

Tuesday I woke up at 6 a.m. I had leftover Rizzi's pizza for breakfast. Oymygawd, YUM. I hugged everyone and went out the door at 7 a.m. to get the rental car back and catch my plane.

Adios, Ohio.
