Again, poor Cloud. It'll take him a while to get over that scene. D: Will we get to learn more about the Strifes later? Probably yes (I hope!).

He stabbed the others into the soft earth, swapped the Fire materia for the Restore materia, and ran one last check on his equipment

*snickers* This is just like the game, where you see the boss up next and check if all your materia is equipped properly. XD Very nice.

I like how Cloud could anticipate little!Cloud's responses. It'd be so amusing if Cloud becomes his own idol. More amusing still is if little!Cloud starts idolizing Genesis, haha.

Zack!! :D Hmm, I guess things are on an accelerated timeline now that the Wutai War didn't take however long it did in canon. If Cloud's 13, then Zack's 15 and Aerith is 14...?

I'm not sure - do you want to know more about the Strifes? I've got a bit on it, but it's not really relevant to the main storyline, so I was considering cutting it out as excess. I guess I've raised the question though, so maybe I should answer it.

As for the ages, I guess it depends on when everyone's birthdays are! :D When I did the research on constructing the timeline, the time between some events was a little bit fuzzy, so it was mostly guesswork.

You need not wait much longer for Vincent. :3

I think expanding on the backstory a bit would be better than never addressing it again. I'm very curious as to why Strife-mama is so pissed at Cloud's dad's side of the family and I'm sure a lot of the other readers are, too. I can see how you might think it'd just be filler or something, but as long as you don't spend, like, an entire chapter on the topic, I think it would add rather than take away from the main story.

I'd always pegged Zack as 16 at the beginning of CC and then 18 when he and Cloud get captured. But the 16's all in my head, so I could be wrong. :/

Vincent~~ ♥ I'm so, so anticipating his entry. His characterization is so...stiff, typically, in these kinds of fics. I'm looking forward to what you have planned for him. >D

Hmm, yes, for some reason I thought he was sixteen in Wutai, and nineteen at Nibelheim, but I don't know where I got that from anymore. I think it was based on the idea that Cloud had heard about the end of the Wutai War before heading off to Shinra, and factor in that he was probably in ShinRa for about two years before he entered the lab, and he was 22 in the main game. So I thought the space between Wutai to Nibelheim was about three years? All just estimates, though. Either way, it's only a couple of months difference. The wiki has some weird BC/AC dating system.

Ack, pressure's on with Vincent! I'm not so sure you'll be so thrilled with what I have planned for him, hope it doesn't disappoint.

I think it was in Last Order (the anime version of Nibelheim) that Zack's age was listed?? And I swear Cloud was 21 in the FFVII booklet and Aeris/th was 22, what with the whole 'older woman' scene with Strife-mama...Oh well.

Gasp! You're right! Why didn't I think of checking the booklet? Silly of me. I opened it right now and Cloud's definitely 21, and Aeris 22. Dissidia research had his age listed as 22, but of course that's after he's spent a few months on the road with Avanlanche... Why no ages or birthdays listed in Crisis Core booklet? ;__; Luckily, this shouldn't affect the timeline I've constructed (ripples in the pond and all that), though I may need to tweak one upcoming event to occur a little earlier. Next time the wikis get confusing, I'll just ping you for reference. :D

...And wow, reading this booklet again is cracking me up. Cait Sith's job is listed as 'Toysaurus' and Vincent is listed as 'Unemployed'. XD
