After a few late nights at work last week...I was getting increasingly frustrated. Not so much about the work, but the fact that people seem to take me for granted and just abuse the fact that I am too damn reliable for my own good.
Hello...if I am working from 8 am to 12 midnight, I don't appreciate you chucking more work my way when you turn up for work at 10 am and leave at 5.30 pm. RAWWR. And your shoddy reviewing almost got me in trouble with the senior manager when he reviewed the file 1 day before the group reporting was due. He eased up when he realised that I didn't review the team's work...also supported by the fact that he didn't have any review comments on the sections which I completed....so frustrated I almost snapped at the pair of them. RAAWRR.
But anyway, I got my training presentation done and impressed a few people.....4 senior managers said I did an excellent job (1 even said he didn't know I had such presentation skills....o_______O"). Overall very informative for all, even the junior staff. Apparently. But yeah, that 25 min presentation took A LOT longer to prepare for.....would have appreciated if the senior manager had given me more notice so I wouldn't have to work such late nights trying to meet client deadlines as well as hers.
So got through the week in 1 piece. Did some networking by hosting some staff visiting from the PwC Tokyo office. Worked crazy hours but somehow managed to do that for a few nights in a row. Got annoyed with a couple of my superiors (re abovementioned client reporting). But yeah.
Janet and Merrill are back from Germany! Unfortunately their house was in shambles...so they spent a couple of days cleaning up. I helped.....wash a few things. But other than that I'm not too good around the house. But yah.
But today takes the cake lah. Survived the week but SOMEHOW managed to miss my footing and sprain my ankle. It is now swollen and looks like a golf ball jutting out from my ankle. Fun times tomorrow.....let's see how long it takes me to hobble around to work. Luckily they've installed lifts at the train station....otherwise it'll take a while going up the stairs...across the bridge, and then down the stairs to the platform. Ouch :( Blame my own clumsy self....
Alright goodnight!
