Authors notes: Dedicated to slowwavepanic & playin_myblood for putting up with me and my constant asking of "is it good so far?"

Huntington Beach always looked mesmerizing at sunset, when the suns rays hit the blue ocean and cast it into many hues other than the sea greens and crystal blues. It was probably the last place on earth someone would find two heavily tattooed rockstars, sat on the sand looking out at the ocean while their Wives walked on the surf; playing with an overly large and obnoxious Bella and a tiny, energetic ball of fur other wise known as Pinkly. They both looked stunning, even with just their casuals on, laughing away to each other before both looking at their husbands, to which the boys flashed a pearly white smile and lowered their shades as they waved two fingers over at them. Perfectly in sync and a glint in their eye only reserved for one another when their eyes met from outside of their shades. Not for their respective other half. No one thought to question why the Singer and Lead Guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold would sit, stand and preform a little too closely to it being more than bestfriends.

Val had looked stunning on her wedding day, a glowing bride on her special day. And she deserved it, after everything that she'd done for the boys just so they could have their dream come true. She'd played mother goose, tour manager and stolen money so they could go out and produce demos to get themselves out there. All paid back years later mind you, they had always paid her back. And Matt had paid her back in more ways, making her his wife. The future Mrs. Valary Renee Sanders after that day. Brian had been stood up there by Matt on his wedding day, along with the others in support and honour of their best friends. Michelle had equally looked stunning in her dress, and the Guitarist had wondered how he'd got so lucky to find a girl who had put up with his bullshit over the years.

But then his gaze would meet with Matt's, and he'd lean back, tattooed hands clasped together and an over easy smile would come over his face. And Matt would return it with an equally goofy one before he turned to look at his bride walking down. But with each step she took, Brian's and Matt's hearts got a little heavier, each step had their guts twisting maybe a little in guilt, maybe in saddness. Because no matter how hard they tried, no matter how many empty bottles, beer and shot glasses got slammed on the bar, they couldn't deny that spark they had for one another. A spark that would ignite into a blaze around one another that led to Brian pressed against the bathroom walls or any other surface with both their jeans and boxers around their ankles. Matt denied it more than Brian did, he often got annoyed and angry with his Lead Guitarist at how he acted, the way he'd saunter with his arm around Michelle's slender waist while glancing at Matt in way's he should have been looking at Michelle. He was marrying Val, and with the ring on their fingers and vows said, what Brian and Matt had would perish. He couldnt go on living a double life anymore, he was ready to settle down now, with Val.

"Is it worth it?" An over easy, californian drawl filled Matt's ears as the one and only Brian Haner Jr. slid upto the bar to order himself and Michelle a beer. Having excused himself from his and Michelle's table before she could ask him to dance.
"Is what worth it?" Matt's tone stiff, he knew what Brian meant, but it didn't mean he had to play ball and he knew by the grunt, he'd struck a nerve of annoyance in the other. Turning to face Brian, looking over the tanned male and he felt his stomach lower a couple of notches. There he stood in his tux still, looking proper and alive; not like someone who'd just lost something. The singer wasn't blind, he'd watched Brian's face from the corner of his eye as the words "I do." Fell from his lips, the sheer look of anger and something that could of been passed as upset in his brown eyes.
"Oh I see how it is," He began, handing over the bill to pay for his drinks, taking both in one tattooed hand. "Playing dumb now, you should probably fire the person who said that shit looks good on you."
But before he could open his mouth to even begin to think up a comeback that had a miniscule effort as being half as good as any of Brian's sharp tongued ones, the Guitarist in mind had vanished back to his table. Leaving an annoyed and scowling singer in his wake.

Now, everyone knew Michelle and Brian were a party couple, just pictures alone could tell you that they were perfect together. From the outside. Their union was highly anticipated just like Matt's and Val's. The way Chelle would lean her forehead against his cheek with her arms lovingly around his chest while his own went protectively around her slender waist when someone asked if they were nervous or excited. And that question came from Zack as he approached with three glasses of champagne and grin on his face.

"So you two love birds ready to walk the aisle?" Handing out the two glasses he'd gotten for them, looking to and from the couple-to-be before taking a sip. Zack was just as trusted as Jimmy and Johnny, and they knew about Matt's and Brian's affair behind closed doors.
"Course. Can't wait." Michelle's overly happy tone sounded over the music over sips of her champagne, the pricey large rock on her finger catching the strobe lights and casting off rainbows of color. "What about you babe?" Her attention drawn to her fiance, whose mind and gaze were occupied by the sight of Val and Matt having their first dance but his attention soon turned back to her, beginning to sway her hips with his hands in time to the slow dance.
"Put it this way, I can't wait to get that garter off her later." Eyebrows waggling to Michelle's and Zack's laughter. "But yeah, I can't wait to make her mine man, why wouldn't I?" Lifting his glass to his lips. He knew all the right words to say to make Chelle's pale cheeks dust a rosy pink, and her heart to skip a beat with him ultimately saying his love in cheeky replies and small affectionate gestures.
"Well man, I'll say this now rather than later, so I don't pull the lame card outta my ass at your wedding. May all your ups and downs be between the sheets." The Rhythm laughed, patting Brian on the shoulder, but despite the cheesy, somewhat amusing pun his face held a questioning look. He knew Brian wasn't thrilled with becoming a married man or Matt being with anyone but him. Brian shrugged it off with a bland laugh and a kiss to his bride-to-be's cheek.

Val's and Matt's song finally ended, having spent the past three and a half minutes swaying and twirling around the dance floor to some song that sounded a lot like Allison Krauss. Brian didn't pay much attention to that, it made his heart sink in anger and his stomach wallow in the need for alcohol. It was time to take to the dancefloor. Until Val had excused herself from Matt with a sweet kiss to his lips, taking the microphone from Benji who'd come along with the rest of DCMA to DJ.

"I'd like to invite my sister and her handsome fiance to share a dance with us." She smiled, even hours on she still looked a million dollars, pointing Brian and Michelle out to the crowd. Both exchanging a glance with one another before Brian led his fiance out to the dance floor next to Matt waiting for the music to start up once more. Val dancing with her husband, and Michelle and her fiance swaying to the music. Guns n Roses "November Rain", Matt had always been a fan of the band and having the love birds dance to it seemed natural. And now it was Matt's turn to feel jealous. To get a bitter taste of envy at seeing the man he cared for be taken by someone else. Forget him saying that they were ending, seeing that had his possessive side rear it's ugly head. And it was destined to get worse, because soon. Brian would bet he one at the end of the aisle, waiting for his bride to become Mrs. Michelle Haner with Matt catching his gaze to get a smile. And all Brian would do was flash that same, over easy smile and turn his back on Matt as Michelle came into view.

Just like Matt turned his back on him hours ago.

Watching how Michelle would gaze lovingly at him and he'd look back at her, and mouth the words of the song to her just to see her smile and watch the Guitarist smile back. A picture of soon to be perfection. A smile that he should be the one pulling from his thin lips, and a warm humoured laugh. But his vision was obscured by everyone else taking to the dancefloor, following Zack and Gena, Leana and Jimmy and finally Johnny and Lacey. Growling, the singer had to focus on Val again, dimpled smile spreading onto his features as he took the time to really look at her. Twirling her around before pressing his lips against hers, the floor erupting into claps and cheers and flashes of cameras seemed to get all the brighter as more people and professional photographer wanted to take the memory home.

The festivities went late into the night, and Brian just seemed like smoke and mirrors to Matt. As the singer sought him out, but all he found was Jimmy. Who flashed a grin over at him, raising his glass, Johnny squirming through the crowds to drag Jimmy on over incase the guy was too intoxicated to know how his legs work.
"Congratulations man!" His bassist giving him a clap on the arm. "Never thought I'd get a hold of you, that new wife of yours wants you all to herself. Save it for the bedroom guys."
"Well now, who wouldn't." Jimmy smirked, "My man's a fine catch, our female and gay fans are going to be weeping at the fact they never got their hands on him, my heart goes to them bro. Today is the day Matt Sanders get's taken off the list for good.." Bouncing on his heels to the music Benji and Tal were cooking up for the guests to dance too while his sharp azure eyes were on his own girl. Jimmy had another meaning, he'd purposely missed out saying their guitarists name. Blue eyes finally resting on Matt along with his hand on his shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze and a knowing look. "Good luck and congratulations." Before in an almost eerily majestic but slightly drunk way the drummer left before once again, just like Brian he could say anything.

"Johnny. You seen Brian?" Deciding to atleast try with Johnny, he didn't know why he wanted to even find the lead guitarist, maybe to see how he was doing. Or yell at him for being such a douche for before. Perhaps he even wanted to apologise for it turning out the way it did, for the way it had to end. It ended today, in a silent break up message in the form of vows. He would never actually admit he had remorse for the way it went, it'd be said in a stiff way just like Brian was used to giving and recieving. They were both never ones to show weakness to anyone.
"Brian? Yeah man last I saw he was heading over by the pool with Chelle." Came Johnny's reply, and Matt had turned to leave before Johnny could have grabbed his arm; shrugging his shoulders and yelling after Jimmy instead, trying to stop the guy harassing one of the waiters.

Brian and Michelle had settled on one of the loungers that had been put back in place, the tea lights in the lotus' had been lit and it gave a warm romantic feel to the nippy air. Which, like a good man, the guitarist had taken off his jacket and wrapped his girl in it. He could be a sweetheart and one hell of a romantic, reserved for those who had his affections. The pair sat in a comfortable silence just thinking that in may, they would be newly weds surrounded by loving friends and family.
"You nervous babe?" Chelle's warm voice had called wanting to know what he really thought, smiling as she leant further against her man, unaware that Matt was watching just like Brian was. Call it what you want, Matt wanted to know what was being said.
"It's gonna be a new start, the skeletons in the kicked out so fast they won't know what hit their ass, or shit will fucking fly." Brian's reply was hummed, thought over but still said as though they were of a joking kind. Earning a playful smack from her, it hurt to say, but Matt had made it clear that they had nothing anymore. Maybe...in the end it was for the best. Matt had been a dick and an asshole anyway, and he gave what he was given. And Matt had shared that pain too.

In a little less than six months. Matt would lose Brian to Michelle. And suddenly the world seemed to show him her cold side, and he'd be forced to endure everything he'd put Brian through.
