Al's urine is now clear and he's still taking in fluids, but unfortunately his catheter got backed up to where they can't get anything through it. He's about to have another surgery to replace that catheter with a different one ( Read more... )

I've been off the computer for the past few days because of my own health shit so I missed this totally. I'm so sorry Al is going thru this, but I'm also so glad so many people have stepped up to help him out. I hope he continues to get better bb, give him a big hug for me. (Give them all big hugs for me)

Oh no I'm sorry you've been sick! Is everything all right?

He came through the second surgery okay, this new catheter seems to be doing better and is more comfortable. There's some tissue coming out and his urine is pink again, but they said it was clearing back up pretty rapidly. He came out of the anesthesia better this time, too. I have to pick him up from the hospital at 7:00 to take him to my regular vet for observation and he may have to spend the night at the emergency clinic again depending on how his kidney levels look. My nerves are just shot right now, though he was moving around when I visited him this afternoon and that's something.

Thank you so much for the kind words/thoughts and the hugs! I'll pass them along, only not to Al because being squeezed with a catheter is kind of not a good idea.

I'm so sorry to hear he's having to go through this! I just got back from a weekend away from the internets, I hope I'm not too far behind to send a gift.

Hey... I've missed all of this as well due to fighting the flu over the weekend, but oh man.
So sorry you're going through all of this, I know I'd be freaking out so much right now in the same situation. Like christy, hugs and maybe some pets for Al because he's not very squeezable right now...and I'm glad it's looking more positive now.

Sending something w/ PP now, I really wish I could do more but I'm really glad that so many other people have pitched in to help, I know how quick medical bills add up and how helpless it can feel...and even a little, it still adds up right? I hope.
