Random post of me "6" years ago
I tried this once or twice with going into a random year and reposting an old story. Their are things you forget and shows where you have been through.

No you all did not missread that. I finally got hired since I moved to California. I will be doing merchandising work for Target at night for the season. Not a glamorous job and my time with Anne will be limited but its temporary. I will get hopefully tons of overtime during the next month. $9/hr is what I should have been getting paid when I did night stocking at Staples back when I lived in New York.
I also am putting in more applications with various geeksquads and Staples pc centers as well. It will take a week for the drug test to go through before I can start. I will use that time well.
Anne is also considering becoming a manager at Staples if she can not get a full time teaching position by next febuarary. I told her she should look elsewhere after I probed a little into the politics going on at work. It kind of hurt her feelings and made her sad. I told her I know she is a very compentent teacher but being treated like shit and being paid half of what you are worth is not worth it(pun). This is capitalism and the employee has as much power as the employer. Anyway she can start making nearly 40k a year and we can move to Dallas or Austin next year as the jobs would be transferable. :-)
Speaking of which I spoke to Anne about moving again after a lovely weekend. I am begining to love California and love spending time with her and her kids. Last week we visited her step dad in Idewild high up in the mountains at his cabin and the week before that we all went to Big Bear Mountain and the Citris historical muesum, oh and I finally visited the other Busch Garden parks, SeaWorld. Man is it laid back compared to Busch Gardens due to the fact that Busch never visits the park. THe traffic department does not even do their job and I saw employees use their cells in guest area's. Very very naughty at the park in Tampa and that is a termination. We had a great time and we saw their newest attraction called Shamu which is their baby whale shark and her mom joined in for tricks. THe kids loved that as well as the pet show where they had cats climb ropes. Big bear was georgous and the weather was very mild for Novemember. We saw the town and went on a few trails. It did not feel like Southern California at all. It was awesome!
Anyway Anne told me she loves California as well but we just can't afford to live here unless I make big bucks and the price of housing goes down. :-( We make enough for rent but according to California law we need to make 2 1/2 the times of our rent. Salaries are the same with a 400% increase in housing prices. That is messed up. She feels that she can make more money in Texas and still be a teacher and I would have access to great schools in Dallas or perhaps Austin. Her exhusband already is requesting a transfer to Dallas and knows the manager there. For $190k he found his house with over 3,000 sq feet! A home like that would start at $700k here. So even if both of us are paid 15% less, our rent is cut down between 1/2 and 1/3. Infact we could own our home outright.
We also saw a pyschic too when we visited Anne's step dad in Idewild. She told us we were going to have a baby girl in a year or 2. Funny, because another pyschic said the same thing? hmm. Also both psychics told us we would be making money but would be broke until August of next year. There maybe some truth in that but as long as we can afford to make ends meet I really dont care. I just like spending time with my family and to me that is the most important.
FInally my life is begining to settle in. :-)

Reflecting
Turns out I did have issues and I forgot about that fall. Back then I had no college degree at all and was in my 20s and fruastrated.
I did quit that job just 2 weeks later as I worked for a famous game company that makes a famous MMO (sorry under the NDA I am forbidden to say where :-(). But it is very popular to you all.
