HBO: Big Love and my thoughts of polygamy and mormonism

I just saw the premier of Big Love on HBO. Its seemed to be a show about a polyarmy relationship at first with a man with 3 wives. I quickly found out he was a mormon and its a rather interesting look at their community ( Read more... )

Dear Sir:

Hello. Well, since I've spent over thirty minutes on your site for "Profile of an American Legend" I thought I would express how interesting I found the material. I am researching material to write a Paper on "The Star Interface" in my Human-Computer Interaction class at NSU of which I am an On-line Graduate student.

After researching "Bruce Horn's Recollections", who helped with the "Star's" development at PARC in the 1980's, I came accross your site in my Google search.

Although your information has nothing to do with what I am researching, currently, it was interesting to see what you have accomplished here. You obviously have a great deal of computer skills, and I just wanted to let you know how interesting I thought it was to read a bit of American History in the field.

The material I am researching has its beginnings in the 1970's in which Xerox introduced the 8010 "Star" system, in 1981. It was not successful with them on a commercial basis, but it was successful through Mac and Microsoft Windows. Mac understood the concepts better than Windows, and I guess the development is always centered around something that is an idea by someone else and built upon for the greater good of all mankind.

I am finishing up a Master's Degree in Management of Information Systems by the end of this year (2006).

How nice that you could see who is reading your journal and from where. I Thank You for allowing me to see your work.

I'm going to say Good-Night now, and continue on with my research, but it has been a pleasure.

Sincerely,

Barbara J. Brackett,
