My good friend
raven_weasley and I had this crazy idea at the end of 2010. Since we had a really crazy download speed, we decided to download all the Music Station Super Live that we can find.
At first I was hesitant because my disk space is already giving me the BITCH PLEASE look. Then one day I found an old Masha clip in a Chinese streaming site:
Google translator was kind enough to inform me that this was from MSSL 1994. A very young Masha is something I cannot ignore.
That's when I knew I have to participate in this ambitious project of downloading entire MSSL episodes.
After I successfully downloaded this file I was surprised that not only did I get Masha's performance but I also got TOKIO's with a hot Nagase as well.
Flawless dawg.
A little SMAP did not hurt either. So it was like getting extra gifts at Christmas.
The scaps will drive my friends list crazy so everything is under the cut.
Tamori, with a less acre of forehead in 1994. Still a badass though.
The baby face cannot be missed. He seemed to be wearing clothes he stole from the backstage though. Look at the wrinkles and the size of that jacket.
I have to rewind TOKIO's entrance. WTF, Mabo and Gussan wearing the back-up dancers' shirts.
My favorite TOKIO song.
He is such an adorable kid.
Riida's bangs is not an late invention by stylist-san. I just found out today.
Gussan's muscle should be a national monument already.
Taichi with his fur jacket. He looked so innocent. I really love his expressions when he's playing keyboards.
Mabo is too cool for everyone. I think this is why drummers get all the girls. They can bang those drums so well.
Nagase should bring this fashion back. I would not mind one bit.
I was about to say that the MSSL stage has not change too much since 1994 but dang Nagase's thigh is distracting.
That is what I call a midriff shirt.
This is not the last time I'll be seeing Tamori and Masha standing together like this. MSta might have changed its co-hosts, but this pair remained.
I really love his Chinii-chan hair. So glad to hear that he finally cut his Ryomaden hair off. I hope this is not a rumor.
This man is so dramatic even at a young age.
This expression never grows old.
The screams for SMAP were loud even Tamori had to acknowledge the craziness when they were introduced. I can't disagree. The Captain is so purty.
Just look at the goofy expression. Still dangerous. Beware.
The show ran for almost three hours but it was a blast to watch. It was like a history lesson in jpop. Sadly the only MSSL in the 90's left was the one in 1992. I do hope I can find more.
