[meme] 2011 from a fandom standpoint
Technically, this is the second day of 2012 in my part of the world but I was too lazy to post something before 2011 ended.
This is my first time doing a meme post but I was already thinking of doing my fandom-related review of 2011 again the laziness kicked in). Good thing I saw this post by talisa_ahnso I'll just join in. Two birds with one stone, eh? I'm feeling clever and stupid at the same time. Don't mind me. Let's move on, shall we?
your main fandom of the year
I know this is an old pic but this sums up what I feel about Arashi.
your favorite film watched this year
The movies that I've seen in theaters in 2011 can be counted in my one hand. So I'll choose this. Dreamworks is not the best producer of animated films but I really love their Puss in Boots spinoff. And I hate spinoffs so this movie is really good.
your favorite book read this year
I don't read Oprah's book club recommendations so maybe that's the reason why I just read this book in 2011. I fell in love with this immediately and after reading this one I went out to read all her other books. Ms. Angelou reminded me to feel grateful of the blessings (and even the sad things) because it what makes one grow. If I'm nicer this year, thank her.
your favorite album or song listened to this year
Hands down, Kinki Kids' K Album. I'm constantly being surprised by these two. So much talent between them, not to mention the amount of collaboration with other artists blended well with their well-loved style.
As for the song, I have to give it to Kinki's Time. I mean, just gorgeous. Listen for yourself.
your favorite tv show of the year
Other than the Arashi fandom (and kpop, I guess), I have yet to see a group's show that is regularly subbed. What can a fangirl do? Watch it raw. I watch way too much Japanese shows for a girl with zero NIhonggo skills but 5LDK sure wins over most of them. Just watching TOKIO bounce around (and they are not the size for bouncing) is enough for me to laugh out loud. Never misses a beat.
your best new fandom discovery of the year
I can't get enough of this group. I guess I'm quite late but I don't care. I'm looking forward to a lot of their projects this year. As for buying their stuff, I have to check with my bank first.
your biggest fandom disappointment of the year
My fellow Arashians might get mad at me for this but I got to admit Arashi ni Shiyagare. I fell in love with Arashi not only because of their charisma but because they don't hold back in their shows. Somehow AniShi did not do it for me in 2011. I already saw the SP scaps and it looks good. I'm optimistic that 2012 will be the return of Arashi in top variety show form.
your fictional boyfriend of the year
Kageyama, of course. He's giving me the go signal to do something nasty to him after tea time.
your fictional girlfriend of the year
This is cheating because she is not a fictional character but I'm so obsessed with Koda Kumi in 2011. She is now trying to steal my heart from Lee Hyori.
your biggest squee moment (s) of the year
It's a tie between...
They have been playing concerts since debut but up until 2008 they have not released a live dvd. I so love their performances in this dvd. I hope that their Oricon ranking will make Johnny's take note to release their next concert dvd.

One of my main boys in Kanjani8 is in AnAn...naked! I almost fainted when I saw this. The boy's grown up well, in my opinion.
the most you missed of your former fandoms
I think I miss the fun that I felt when I used to be really into kpop. I still listen to some artists and watch some shows but after that I just go back to flailing on jpop. I still don't know what I lost in that fandom though. Hopefully I can answer it in the future.
the fandom you haven't tried but want to
Not that I need anymore fandoms but it would not hurt to start with the 48 fandom. Some of my friends would be surprised but I have not yet immersed myself in this fandom. I guess it's too much work. Bigger than all my current fandoms combined.
