I Have a Dream
As a human being, this piece of writing never fails to move me with its beauty and inherent truth.
As a student of literature, this piece of writing never fails to amaze me with the skill and natural talent upon which is was produced.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to appreciate this speech today, even though it was written before I was born. Even more than that, I am grateful to live in a society (that despite its myriad of continuing problems), has, none-the-less, obviously been improved by these words and the hard work behind them (even if just a little bit).
I know to many it probably sounds cheesy, but I don't care, because I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I am usually such a bitter person, but this speech makes me feel hopeful, if even just for a little while.
