what i've been doing

Jul 26, 2007 00:01

i've been working. that's why i haven't posted in a while.

DQ work is alright. I've started to learn register so that'll make me able to work at the DQ in Indiana if I can get it. though, i dunno if they serve a full food menu, cause we don't, in that case, i'd have to learn all the real food stuff too, but that wouldn't be so bad as all the blizzard recipes.

working "on call" at Kid2Kid which is a kids exchange kind of store next to caleb's studio. i just hang things, mostly. it's like working at the library, only with clothes and toys instead of books. it's not exciting stuff, but at least i don't get yelled at for little mistakes like i do at DQ. That's another reason i'm glad this is only a temp job for me.

third, i've picked up all the chores around the house that we'd divied amongst the four of us at the beginning of the summer so things wouldn't get backed up so as to make up for not paying rent. basically, by doing all the chores (aka maid services) that will cover my rent for July & August. Still have to make up for June, but i can do that with my DQ paychecks.

fourth, i'll be picking up a babysitting job for an autistic boy, Logan, who is the son of the owner of Kid2Kid and the state will actually be paying me $7.50/hr, though checks will be few and far between, but they'll come. it'd be 3-4 hrs a day, Mon-Fri.

So, as of next week, i'll basically have 4 jobs.

Next - Over a week ago, Zach diagnosed Chimes w/ cancer (basically) and I had to drop her off at E-town to get a new hardrive. I think i've said this already. anyways, took me a week to get back out to E-town and get her, and then we had to reinstall Linux onto the new hardrive, but to do that, took some trouble which is yet to be worked out b/c Zach actually acquired his own job which has him out in West Chester for the next few days, and actually, the next 3 months or so. I'm glad Zach's got a job, but i'm sorta sorry he won't be here all the time like before. especially when my computer needs fixing and he's the only one in the area that i know and can trust to fix her the way she needs to be fixed.

In other news - i'm tired. having lots of things to do isn't as great as it sounds. I try to relax, but it only works about 25% of the time and even that doesn't last very long. I'm dreaming again. Trying not to remember them, cause they're mostly bad, so i don't write them down and they'll hopefully go away. we got a 1,000 piece fire dragon puzzle to go with the ice dragon puzzle we did over winter break. we're going to matt them on to the back of the bookcase that we didn't put back on the bookcase when we put it back together in the basement cause the wall worked nicely and then also kept access to the outlet open. oh, but we'll matt them next to each other and then maybe frame it and put it up on a wall somewhere. maybe the stairwell. i think that would be cool.

Um...more stuff...being a green belt is nice. i like my new form so far. it's easy to remember. the stances are a bit tricky, but at least the actual moves aren't (yet).

Bought "Paradice Lost/Regained" and have read through the first two chapters, which is really 50 pgs. It's rather interesting, but it's a REALLY hard read. In reading it i'm hoping to find the story of the Fall that some christians say is biblical evidence of Satan in Eden, cause there's no mention of Satan in Genesis. Really. Go read it, there's not. The Snake is just a snake, nothing more, at least in my version. But yea, Sin is a woman who sprung full grown from Satan's head (cough*athena?*cough*) and then they had a love affair, then Sin got pregnant and gave birth to Death. It's kinda kinky...
