First off: Happy Parallel Day everybody!
second, just gonna give you bits of what's been happening this past week, leading up through today so far.
i haven't been writing alot cause i haven't really had the time.
i've been doing this soc group project thing on "Mind, Self, and Society". i've missed class, but we were meeting at night, so those took about 2 hrs each. then, they decided that we should meet at 9 a.m. before our presentation at 10.30 on friday. so i had to get up at 8 friday only to find that my partner for Society had gone and changed our slides into somethign only he understood the order of and said "oh, well, i'll let you do your example here" where it really didn't fit at all! so that got me really frustrated.
funny thing on tuesday, we got our Chanukkah piece for choir and it's basicaly a choral arrangement of "O Hanukkah" and it's an alright arrangement...i just don't like the song too much. so i was squirming and silently moaning the whole time. luckily Rick saw me and after choir right before graduate choir he said "Give this woman a hug!" and gave me this huge crushing bear hug and announced, "Ladies and Gentlemen, this year's cultural diversity, brought to you by Cheeze Wiz!" [it's fake and you can't get it out of your mouth]. so that made me laugh alot. and then on thursday when we had to practice the chanukkah piece, he held out his hand and made a "shhhhh" noise while making a hand motion as if one were squirting whipped cream from a can (simulating that squeeze can cheese) which just made me laugh again. our concert for sunday was canceled, so don't have to worry bout that, so i was planning on going down to Geek Central to talk to caleb bout stuff that's been going on.
unfortunately, here's my adventure story for the weekend:
lindsey needed food for the weekend and also paper towels and garbage bags, so we went out to Wal-Mart for these items and for some reason, i decided to try and open the trunk, so i stick the key in, turn, and remove only half of my key!!!!! Fuck! um...now what? go back into wal-mart to the customer service desk and they hand me a phone book to call a locksmith. Call, and he says he can be there in bout 15 minutes. so we wait. he gets there and gets the other half of my key out, but doesn't have a blank one for me, so we go round to the back of wal-mart and they can't make me a new one w/ the broken key, so the locksmith drives me to the suburu dealer and they call their parts place if they've got blank keys that will fit my model, but they say "sorta", so we drive down to the parts place and the locksmith said that the blanks we were given wouldn't work cause of their size and the parts guy was like "suburu hasn't changed their key in 25 years!" garble garble, so we buy two blanks and then go to the locksmith's shop, which is actually the basement of his home, and he put the broken pieces in the key maker and tried his best but the stuff that the blank was made of was so strong, it actually dulled his cutter. he drove me back to the wal-mart parkinglot to see if it worked, but it didn't, cause he didn't get the parts of the key right to make the new one quite right, so he gave me his card so i can send him a check, and left. then i called AAA and explained a little of what happend and they told me to wait inside till a tow-truck came. so i did, but when the tow-truck lady came and i tried to explain my situation to her, she said "So, wait...you don't have a key?" Me think: No, that's what i was trying to explain to you! but b/c i don't have any kind of key, the doors are still lock and they'd have to ruin my tires to put Lou on the flatbed or they'd have to break into him to open him up and then i'd have to pay to fix a window or something besides the tow. so she basically told me that she can't tow my car back to Robertshaw! so i'm suck at wal-mart w/ car, so i called mike to pick me up. had to wait nearly half an hour for him, but i was glad to see him when he arrived. cause by then, i was crying some and i wanted to get away from the wal-mart entrance. but almost right after he got there, the locksmith called me back and suggested i tell the wal-mart people that my car was gonna be there a few days. mike parked and came in w/ me and gave me a hug, but that just started me crying again, so i had to actually out loud tell myself "not now...not here...not yet". wasn't a big deal to wal-mart cause it's a 24/7 place and cars are there all the time. so i called my dad (before mike came, actually) and he's going to send me the master key with matt when he sees him at his frisbee tourney this weekend. mike invited me to dinner w/ him and katie and brent and this other guy, alan. all this started around 3.30, it was 7 by the time mike picked me up, i hadn't eaten since 1. but he had to go back and shower first, which was fine w/ me cause that meant i had a quiet (mostly empty) place to cry my heart out just cause of all the stress of dealing w/ people and explaining what was going on and people not helping the way they should, and just remember that by that point, i should've been at Geek Central and i wouldn't have to think about anything for two days, but now i had to pay for laundry and deal w/ lindsey and not see caleb and have think about things that i wasn't going to before. dinner helped some, but only in the not thinking bout all the stress i'd been under that day so far.
drew two new coloured pencil pictures last night to relaxed. talked to caleb for nearly 3 hours on the phone, just talking. he helped w/ the second picture idea. was relaxing to just talk and draw. i recited "Birches" and i got him to look up a poem he liked to read. he chose Kipling's "Gunga Din". it's a very sing-songy one, so i almost didn't even hear the words, just the sound of his voice.
woke up today for TKD class 15 minutes before my alarm went off.
arfies came w/ me today, which may've not been the brightest of ideas cause Mr. Bowers was teaching and we did the Wall of Pain again, and apparently, the only reason we do is b/c i mumbled "i hope we don't do the Wall today". so just have to remember to not say anything and maybe we won't. but yea, not the best intro class, but maybe she'll go back Tue @ 7 or Wed w/ me at 7.45 for a real intro class. It was raining too, so we had to walk in the rain, which sucked. good ol' indiana...*grumbles*. got back and did laundry. basically hung out in the room all day w/ lindsey and talked to caleb online bout things that i'll go over in another post later. he invited me to his family thanksgiving thing next weekend since he was invited to mine, so i'm gonna go to that. did some more Wesnoth sketches and a little painting, but only finished one completely...oo...forgot to scan that...oh well, i'll do it later. easymac for dinner, watched Mummy Returns, that's basically what i've done today.
oh! and we just had the fire alarm go off, but it got shut off after about 30 seconds of being on, but the police made us evacuate anyway and once we got to the bottom and out the door, we were in a line that went around to the front of the building and back inside anyways!!! (and it was still raining a little bit) And since it was a line and we were basically the end of it, we actually caught an elevador, but when i asked where everyone was going i got a "ffvvf" from this one guy and I look at him and ask him to repeat himself and he repeats "FFvvv!" not "five" or "fifth" like he meant to say, really "ffvvf" and he was annoyed that he had to repeat himself 3 times and i was annoyed that he could just open his fucking mouth and say what he was trying to communicate clearly! I mean, my group was talking about this on friday about how people can communicate with reasoning and logic and common language in order to get a specific idea across that is understood to both the sender and receiver of the information. i guess this guy didn't realize that. i know it shouldn't bug me, but it does.
anyways, i'm going to bed now so i can sleep in tomorrow and do more artzy things tomorrow and dunno if i'll even go outside. dunno what tomorrow will bring. almost never do. oh, speaking of artzy things, here are the two pictures i drew:
