[ Someone has just gotten around to setting this up. ]

Hello! My name's N. I'm not with my transciever or I didn't hear it. Leave me a message and I'll call back. Bye!

[ beep. ]

[...He supposes...if he's really going to look out for N, this is part of his responsibility too.

And so he calls.]

N-kun, do you have a moment?

-- Minato?

Oh yes, sure. What is it?

[...And a quiet breath, not quite a sigh.]

Is everything alright?

[He saw the broadcast. He knows that it isn't, but he'd like to give N the chance to explain first.]

-- yes?

[ Now things are. He missed the broadcast, and his Pokemon have been healed, the Feraligatr is content... to N, everything is fine. ]

You sound like something is wrong, though.

[...ah. Yes, looks like he'll have to explain, then.]

Someone made a broadcast saying that you'd stolen their Pokemon.

[That's all he offers, in a neutral tone. He wants N's side of the story, not just Silver's.]

I took one from a trainer named Silver, yes.

[ He does not even hesitate to say it. ]

...Why?

[He really does...just want to know.]

[Voice] singularjustice May 30 2011, 22:59:48 UTC
Because he abuses his Pokemon and treats them cruelly, like they are mindless tools.

I see.

[His voice is calm.]

...And you did save one of his Pokemon. But what has this solved, N-kun?

It keeps one Pokemon from being abused. And perhaps will make him think. I offered him a deal. If he learns how to treat his Pokemon properly, I will return Feraligatr to him.

...He won't change through force, N-kun. You can't force people like him to change.

He'll regard this as a challenge and refuse to listen.

[Because...he understands people. And--]

You're right. It's wrong that he abuses Pokemon. But there has to be another way to resolve this.

Then I'll take his Pokemon away so he can't abuse them any longer. I told him that.

[ N sounds utterly sure of himself in this. ]

[...he has no comments to make on the legality or lack thereof. More importantly--]

...And will that stop him? There are other ways to solve this.

It will stop him from abusing them, yes. He won't have them to abuse.

[ Now confusion creeps into his voice. ]

Other ways? Like what?

[...]

You should talk to him. You mentioned wanting to understand people better...if you understand his reasoning, then you can begin to change his mind and how he acts.

[ Talk to him?

...

What kind of madness is this? ]

But if he doesn't love his Pokemon enough to change to get one back, how will talking to him help?
