Emile had to admit that he'd missed Jun badly. Sure, there had been plenty of missions where the team had been separated for weeks at a time. This wasn't a mission, though. This was more downtime he had to think than he'd ever really had before.

He knew Jun would have to come back on his own terms, and he respected that, but it didn't stop him from waiting outside Three's room against the wall for a chance to talk.

Jun's startled a bit when he goes to leave his room, not expecting Emile and half tempted to just retreat back in and close the door. He starts the motion but forces himself to stop and resist, and ends up freezing in his doorway.

"Yeah?" It comes out a little sharply, frustration at the situation and the ever constant oppression.

Emile winced a little under his visor, though it shouldn't have showed externally at all.

"Just wanted to say welcome back, Three. Been too long."

Jun deflated slightly at that, his shoulders sagging as he reached up to rub the back of his neck.

"Oh .. yeah. Sorry about that." He wasn't quite sure what else to say. Glad to be back just didn't seem to fit the situation, not yet.

He was tempted to go over there and give the man a shoulder-bump, but Jun was still looking--well, jumpy.

"Least you made it," he admitted, letting a little bit of the worry into his voice. "Was worried you might go through one of them teleporters and not come out the other side again."

"Ah -- no, still here." He gives a non-committal shrug, crossing his arms and leaning against the door jamb, trying to be casual but still darting looks down the hall. "Things been quiet while I was out?"

His concealed frown deepened at the evidence that Jun was uncomfortable in what was supposed to be their home. He was acting like they were in unknown territory, not surrounded by Noble and other Spartans.

"Too quiet without you fillin' the empty spaces. Got a few new faces since you been gone, though."

"Yeah, I met Sam earlier. Seems like a good kid."

He's not mentioning the gaps in the conversations; he's certainly felt far less chatty recently than he'd ever been.

"He is."

...This is getting a little awkward.

"Jun--" Emile suddenly thinks it might not be a good time to ask "are you okay" since he's obviously not, so he goes with "--listen, man, if you want to talk or anything, I'm here for you."

Jun tenses a little at that, but then looks over at him and gives a small nod.

"Yeah, I'll -- I'll remember that."

He appreciates it, and gives a small, fleeting smile as thanks. The thing was, Jun wasn't sure what he could tell Emile, though; he wasn't one of the ones who knew exactly what had gone on.

"All right."

He nodded and, because it could bear repeating, said "It's good to have you here, Three."

But he wasn't sure what else there was to say, at least not yet, so he started heading back to his own room.

"Yeah, I -- yeah." He gives Emile another ghost of a smile, reaching back to rub at his neck again as he watches the other man leave, before closing his door and retreating back into his room again. Whatever he'd planned on doing when he'd started out, he'd lost the inclination.

He'd known his team had worried -- thanks to Vriska -- but actually hearing evidence of it was something Jun couldn't ignore as easily.
