Kaylee was excited, terrible awful excited. It'd been a while since she and Bro had done anything as a couple and now they were going to go for a walk and just look around. It was a nice, romantic day together and it didn't make no nevermind what they did or even where they went so long as they were together. She didn't quite get the appeal of urban exploration, beyond the machine guttin' possibilities, but Bro had seemed awful interested in it. (As interested as Bro seemed in anything, given how taken he was with being aloof and ironical.)
If he thought it'd be fun, well, she'd give it a shot.
The engineer adjusted her hair in the mirror, for the fifth time, and then meandered out into her front room. She was ready to go and practically bouncing on her heels, a fact she silently berated herself for. After all, there weren't no point in being so chipper about it. It was a date; she'd had plenty of those.
...Not lately, but that were gonna get fixed.
Kaylee glanced at the clock (Bro would show up any time now) and then went to wait on her couch. Today was going to be great, she could feel it.
