Parker still wasn't thrilled about giving up the necklace she'd worked so hard to...well...to get handed over to her without question. Okay, so it hadn't been hard. But that wasn't the point

"Hey, you know what? I jut got a great idea," Hardison piped up as they approached. "After this, we'll go boost a sick ride." Car theft ought to cheer her up, right?

"You mean...like an ambulance?" she asked cautiously. Sometimes, she just didn't understand him at all.
Reply
"Uh...no." Hardison took a moment to stare. "Like...a flying space Ferrari." He paused another moment. "Unless you want to steal an ambulance."

Parker stared right back. She really didn't get where he was going with this.
"People need ambulances when they get hurt, Hardison. You can't just go around stealing them."
Reply
"Yeah, I guess you're right," he answered slowly. "No ambulances. Let's just...find a nice car instead."
Time for a subject change, though, because this was going in circles. Seemed like they had a little bit of time to kill before the Noble Team showed up. (EEEEEEEE. :D :D :D) Hardison motioned at Parker's pocket. He doubted the necklace was in that one (too easy to lift from and old habits die hard) but it was the gesture that mattered.
"How'd you manage to lift that, anyway?"
He didn't buy that she'd found it, not even a little.

Suddenly, Parker was holding the necklace in her hand, though it was impossible to tell where she'd been hiding it. She gazed down at it in admiration for a moment before shrugging nonchalantly.
"I asked for it."

How--who--what--?

"Sort of," she acknowledged, and shrugged. "I said it was mine."

She glances over at Carter as she walks at his side, brows furrowing a little. ]
You expect her to just hand it back?

...Honestly, he's pretty much unconcerned with the necklace. He was more concerned with the breach of security, though he could talk to Emile about that, later. ]
...Essentially.
[ he gives Kat a glance, and resists the urge to actually look at her, because she does look nice in the jeans and tanktop. ]
She knows we're aware it's missing. And that she was the one who took it.

They really were Noble team.
"Aw man," he complained quietly, to Parker, while they were still out of earshot. "How come you got a Noble tag?"
Despite this disappointment, he wasn't exactly pouting when they rolled up. In fact, it was all he could do not to grin like an idiot and shove his laptop at them to make them sign it. (What he wouldn't give to have ANY of his collectible shit on him.)

She just shrugged in response to Hardison's question, slowing down as they approached the soldiers and eying the woman warily. That had to be Noble Two, the necklace's owner.
Hopefully she wasn't in a 'crush civilians flat' mood.

"Alice White?" she's asking him, not the woman.
Reply
"I'm Carter, and this is Kat." A pause, giving Hardison a once-over. "I'm afraid I haven't talked to you before."
Sup, Hardison.

Hardison debated putting his hands in his pockets, if only to help prevent him spazzing out. With Carter introducing people though, he saw an opportunity and dammit he was going to take it. Hardison smile genially (it was a little...overmuch, given the situation, but he hardly noticed) and extended a hand to shake.
There, however, he hit a hitch in the plan.
Parker had given them an alias.... Did that mean he should give them an alias? Which one? Wait...he wouldn't be able to get them to sign it to him...nevermind he hadn't actually decided what to ask them to sign, nor how to ask them to do it. Hardison was struck with an intense disappointment and diverted the question.
"Don't get out much," he answered.
