It wasn't exactly the first emotion he thought he'd associate with his new… change of heart (infection? nah, that wasn't right), but… then again, he hadn't really thought much about the shift before it actually happened.
He can't actually spread the infection--and there was no way he'd go anywhere near the Game Grid replica, orders or no. So he just wanders through his little section of Stross, half-heartedly looking for any unfortunate people who might have stumbled into the pseudo-Grid by accident. He doesn't expect to actually find anyone before Clu's holographic patrols do, but he can at least pretend to be productive.]
