It was actually a relief to be walking somewhere for once instead of using the teleporters. Sure, they could've ended up smack dab in the middle of the zone, but hiking in on a hunting trip was half the fun! Some people liked to shoot things from skimmers or hovercraft, but Garrus? No. On foot. That was the way to do it. It was how his ancestors had done it after all. And before guns, they'd had spears! And their bare claws! Fortunately, Garrus didn't believe that much in tradition.
So, that was why he was currently hiking down a windy trail, a brilliant green canopy spread out above him, artificial sunlight occasionally filtering through a gap in the leaves and branches overhead. It was warm here - and that suited him just fine. A bit humid, but he didn't mind that. For once, he'd also chosen to forgo his armor for more suitable clothing. Traveling gear and a pack to go with it. His rifle, of course, stayed with him.
He glanced back at his companions, "Come on - we need to find a campsite before dark. And maybe set up a blind if we have time..."
After all, there had to be something worth shooting out here. And it would help him keep his mind off of the events surrounding the Marker. Not that he ever wanted to think about that again.
