The elevator carrying Geordi would land in the area shortly. Eleanor was already in place. GLaDOS surveyed the multitude of turrets, the water hazard, and the high energy spheres dispassionately. The puzzles were relatively easy (considering they had two guns), but if she could kill one of them.
Well...more's the better.
The lights flipped on and GLaDOS waited.

He was still immensely curious about how the portal gun worked - the energy use alone must be massive, but for the moment, he'd abandoned his efforts to take it apart and figure out just how it ticked.
That could wait until after the test.
And the cake.
The door opened with a soft ping and Geordi stepped out, eyes drawn immediately to the energy spheres. Those were new.
And then he noticed the other person. Geordi smiled, stepping forward.
"Hello?"

Eleanor was not happy.
She'd decided to take a moment to rest, so she was sitting on the floor, her diving helmet sitting in her lap, her arms resting on it and her head resting on her arms. When she heard someone else approaching she sat up, pointing a glove covered hand towards him.
"Who are you?"
Reply
"My name's Geordi," he said, and smiled. "What's your name?"

"I take it the creepy voice has been driving you through these mazes too?"

He walked over, crouching down near where Elanor was sitting on the floor.
"Not enjoying the puzzles, huh?"
Reply
Maybe more than a little. She sighed.
"No, I am not enjoying the bloody puzzles. I tried to burn the last one down, actually. She dumped me in here instead."

"Hey," he said, still friendly. "It's all right. I think we're just about to the end, anyway."
He glanced around the room, at the energy spheres and the turrets, and then back down at Eleanor, smiling.
"We'll find our way out together, all right?"
Reply
"I will remove the turrets," she said as she tugged her helmet on, her voice getting hollow as the speaker inside clicked on. "Unless you want to."

Actually, he thought they were kind of cute, especially when they talked to him.
But if it made Eleanor feel safer to take them out, he wasn't going to argue.
"Fine with me," he agreed, and started looking around the room, trying to figure out a strategy for where to fire the portal gun, and how to get out.
