Terezi was not pleased. She had failed in her duties to SHODAN. A heretic, unclean and unfit to even set foot in these halls, had somehow managed to break in and steal away one of the prisoners in the holding cells. Trespassing, theft...

This could not go unpunished.

And then Terezi senses her in the grand foyer, smells the faint, ever-present salt of the sea that clings to her like perfume, feels a small blaze of heat against the backdrop of pulsing, organic warmth spattered across the walls and floor.

Feferi is here again. She's attempting a repeat performance of her crimes.

Terezi will not stand for such blatant recidivism.

She takes to the air, silent and swift in the dark. Within moments she overtakes the sea dweller and lands at the head of the grand stairs on all fours, cutting Feferi off from venturing deeper into the building. Metal wings fold in against her back; she uncurls and stands, the blue-green lines trailing across her reptilian skin luminescent in the dim light. She pauses for a few seconds, cocks her head and listens to the endless broken whispers and screams of the hivemind, then finally turns to face the criminal.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Feferi stops dead, culling fork raising immediately at the threat. But the threat- no, something was wrong. Something was terribly, terribly wrong.

"Who-" She starts, before the details start to fall into place and her eyes widen in horror. "... Terezi?" No, it couldn't- it wasn't her. She was just... she was jumpy and everything with Eridan and- she swallows at the now ever present lump in her throat. Even with the changes she could recognize her friend.

"I've come to help you, stupid." She answers, knuckles ashen as she grips her weapon tighter and tighter. "Just- please, listen ok?"

"Help me?"

Terezi can't help it. She starts to giggle, and though she tries to put a hand up to smother it, she eventually just gives up, throws her head back, and laughs. It's just too funny.

"I'm fine just the way I am," she says with a razor sharp grin. "In fact, I've never been better!"

In a flash her cane is out of her strife specibus and in her hand, pointing down at the other girl.

"You're the one who needs help, Feferi."

She wasn't exactly expecting laughter, honestly she wasn't sure what she was expecting. Even for all the strange things they had seen this was just bizarre. What was even the point? Why do this to Dave and Sollux and Eridan and Terezi?

Ugh, it really got her steamed.

"No I don't, you- you didn't choose this..." She counters- she assumes. "Come on Terezi! Sollux and Dave got back- Karkat's there too! Stop being such a hammerhead and snapper out of it!"

Hearing her friends' names actually gives her some pause, though not for the reason Feferi might think. She misses them. Sollux was the one who brought her here. He was the one who drew her into cyberspace while her body underwent its transformation and showed her the endless possibilities they could work together towards, and now he was just gone. Only a few days ago, for a brief, beautiful moment she thought she could feel Dave join them as well, only to feel him ripped away only seconds later. And Karkat... she wants to share this with him more than anything.

She misses them all so much.

"Dave and Sollux shouldn't have left," Terezi says quietly. "They belong here with us. They all do."

She takes a step forward, her clawed feet clicking against the tile. "I'm going to ask you this only once, Feferi. Give yourself up and tell me where Eridan is. This doesn't have to be hard. You still need to pay for what you've done, but if you're truly contrite and understand the error of your ways, She might grant you clemency."

"She?" Feferi asks, taking a small step back. She really didn't want to fight Terezi, for the girl's own good and for herself. Terezi was vicious enough normally, but now- needless to say she wasn't too confident it wouldn't end painfully for both of them.

"I'm not glubbing telling you so you can forget it!" She answers crossly. "Why would anyone- why is this even happening? Why is someone doing this to you?"

"The Goddess. Mother. SHODAN." Her voice is hushed, reverential. "She's going to make everyone and everything better, like She did with me and Sollux and Davesprite and Equius. We don't have to be afraid of the demon or anything else anymore!

"This is all for the best, Feferi. Why can't you understand? We'll all be with Her in the end, anyway. Just surrender."

"Are you batfish?" Feferi nearly shouts. "Look what she did to Sollux and Dave- to you! To Eridan, his fins and gills..."

She raises her weapon, eyes narrowing. "You're coming back with me Terezi. It- I'm not letting you stay here."

Terezi raises her own weapon. "And I'm not letting you go."

Her expression hardens, and she resolves. Feferi had her chance, and she'd wasted it. It was wrong of Terezi to have even given her that much. And now she was left with no choice. Feferi needs to pay for her transgressions before being brought into the fold.

Terezi's wings unfurl, every inch the arbiter she was meant to be. She is the sword and the scales, the upholder of Her law, and she will not fail again. She leaps high into the air, wingtips nearly brushing the ceiling, and then angles into a dive straight at Feferi.

Shoot- Feferi immediately attempts to dodge, dashing to the side. She wasn't sure what to do, she couldn't just slash the girl down, it was Terezi. She couldn't fight with abandon. She had to bring her back.

She does trying swinging her 2x3dent at the troll- well, whatever she was now- careful to only aim with the blunt side of it. Or at least trying to, it brought her a little too close to her target than she wanted.

Terezi lashes out with her cane as she swoops by, only to be met by the other girl's double-ended trident with more force than expected. Even enhanced and improved as Terezi is, Feferi still outclasses when it comes to strength.

She makes a sharp turn, still flying low to the ground, and speeds towards the other girl. She feints, pretending to take another swipe with her weapon, but pulls up at the last second and rakes with her back claws.

The first clash was good- Terezi wasn't much physically stronger now though it was obvious she was far, far faster. Feferi lets out a breath, weapon held defensively as Terezi rushes again. The switch from weapon to her claws throws Feferi off enough her arm got swiped. She hisses, purple blood running down her arm- defensive wasn't going to work it seemed. She needed to catch her.

She tries not give her a moment, dashing forward and lashing out at her wings. Getting her on the ground would be a big improvement.

Terezi wasn't expecting Feferi to recover so soon. The blow to her wings takes her by surprise, and she tumbles to the ground before she's flown far. She manages to land on all fours, claws digging into the floor to keep from skidding too far. She sneaks a look back to check out the damage before refocusing on her opponent. It doesn't look too good -- the hit crumpled the metal. She won't be taking to the air again any time soon.

She settles into a crouch, cane at the ready, waiting for Feferi to make the next move.

Feferi lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding- good, it looked like that didn't actually hurt Terezi too badly. She wasn't sure how much those wings could feel, just that she needed to ground her. So far so good.

She makes another dash at the girl, ready to try to land a safer blow of the curve of her tridenthead. If she could get the cane out of her hands maybe she could tackle her down, try to knock her out without causing too much damage.

Terezi just waits until Feferi is almost upon her before dodging to the side. She doesn't even try to block the trident -- instead, she attempts to hook her cane around the other girl's feet in a sweeping motion. It's a somewhat risky maneuver: if it works, she'll have tripped Feferi up, leaving her wide open. If not, Feferi will be close enough to make avoiding any attacks very difficult.

Unfortunately cane moves too fast for her to jump, making her land hard on her side. Feferi panics, stabbing her trident out blindly (haha) hoping to hit her arm or leg or something so she can have enough time to regain her footing.
