It takes a while for Feferi to come back to the house. It felt like she had spent hours trying to get into zone 7, everything from ineffectual attempts at the transporter to begging- begging no one. No one would listen, Sollux wouldn't listen, it was like he was muted under something. Muted and hurt and he needed someone, she needed to do something, she needed to save him and bring him back and not be so glubbing stupid! How did she let it get this far? How did she not notice until it was too late?

Needless to say when she makes it back to the house her eyes are bloodshot, goggles pushed up her forehead and face smudged with diluted tyrian purple. She just... needed to find someone, someone would be able to help, right? Maybe one of the Striders, then they could save Sollux and Vriska and everything. Everything would be ok.

Her eyes widen when she notices someone new, was that- John? She stares a moment, opening her mouth and closing it again. "J-John?"

John hadn't went to go to the lockdown area - not solo. He wanted to get everyone together. But he had felt guilty, too. He was talking to the idiot just a day or two ago. He was acting strange but dammit, he didn't think it was this bad. And just - he wasn't doing anything. Was Vriska in that zone? What was going on-

And then he hears someone coming in. Turning around suddenly. He sees one of the trolls. Fish fins - this was... Feferi, Sollux had said. They were matesprits. He wasn't sure what that meant, but judging from her facial expression, it was obviously something close to Sollux.

He opened his mouth slightly, confused and also a little guilty. "...F..Feferi, right?"

"Yeah-" She answers, closing the door behind her and trying to compose herself more. Freaking out like a wriggler wouldn't help, right? When she faces John again she manages a smile. "I'm glad you're ok! Things are- they're kind of bad, huh?"

"I tried getting into Zone 7 but-" She trails off, walking in further. "I don't- I'm not sure what to do now."

"They're... they're bad." He never liked admitting it when things were bad. And he couldn't just freak out like that. He was keeping his head on his shoulders.

"Yeah. I heard it's on lockdown. I'm sorry." I should have helped. He wanted to say, but he just looked away. "I'm... I'm trying to think of what to do."

"I realize I haven't had much experience with you, but considering your extreme similarity with a friend of mine, I have to ask - what seems to be troubling you?" There's Roheze again. She's been quietly lurking throughout Strider House, making herself at home and trying to figure out what exactly she's going to do. She seems to be stuck with several alternates of herself and her friends, along with a bunch of Alternians. Who were supposed to be dead.

Ah, well.

"I'm... It's the flipout of Sollux's. Just a little." John looks at Roheze - god, it still took a double take not to register as Rose - god, even with the horns and skin she looked just like Rose - and felt a pang of guilt for her. She was an outsider. Born in a... what, a universe where they were trolls and the trolls were kids? It was just a mess for her to understand, he's sure. She was making the best of it - he expected that much of any Rose, but still, she was asking him if he was alright when she's barely been here a week and probably still trying to figure all this out-

"But. I'll be fine. Just worried, is all. How're you? Handling things well?" Topic change, yeah, let's try and avoid his strained emotions right now, that was a good plan.

For her part, Roheze as trying not to let the sheer confusion of seeing a friend she distinctly remembered as being wholly Alternian looking as alien as anything she'd ever seen. Not that she was going to show any of that. Instead, she coolly eyed him from across the room, taking him in. Oh, yes. Questions.

"I am doing as adequately as you might expect. Thrust into a strange new world, armed only with my wits and my magical ability to tear anyone who looks at me in the wrong way into small, bloody chunks. I'd say I'm doing well, actually."
