who ; All the UNSC people. what ; Meeeeeeetings about important things. where ; Spartan base. when ; 1-10-2011 warning(s) ; I don't think so? This does spread out over a while, though. ( Log times. )
As the meeting is getting ready to Start, Emile is, as usual, on the door. They were going to be discussing sensitive information here, and he needed to make sure nobody was getting in that shouldn't be here.
And if it was one of those other UNSC guys, like the one with the damn alien baby? They could walk by Emile and see he meant business.
It was possible that before he heard the "Hello, Noble Four", Emile would see her coming. Her current system, the Forerunner Monitor, was almost entirely similar to the only other Monitor on the station with the single difference that her eye was blue, rather than red.
"Can I assume everyone is already gathered?" She asked as she came to a stop, emitting a soft blue glow.
"GAH!" Cortana screamed, rocking backwards, an energy shield not entirely dissimilar to the MJLONIR's appearing as it deflected the buckshot from Emile's signature weapon. "My eye! Are you trying to blind me?!" She exclaimed, her hologram broadcasting from the eye, turning from blue to bright red.
His instinct is to jump onto it and stick it with a plasma grenade (not dissimilarly to how one takes down a Wraith), but if there's one thing Emile does, it's quickly assess a battle situation. So instead he just takes the grenade into his hand, ready to prime it if necessary.
That hologram.
"--The hell are you impersonating her for, you floating eyeball bastard?"
"..." Cortana let out a very frustrated sigh and flicked a couple locks of hair out of her eyes. "I really need to start telling people about this ahead of time."
"I am her, Noble Four." She explained, wracking her mind for some way that she could quickly prove it. The oly oly oxen free wouldn't work, Emile was an S-III. She had an idea, she just hoped he bought it. "Your name is Emile-A239. You were born in Luxor on Eridanus II March 11th of 2523." She quickly supplied, then paused. "You also possess the most impressive collection of Covenant contraband in the UNSC, including a Brute Chieftan's helmet. With the skull still inside."
If that didn't work, she might just be out of ideas, save hiding until Black-Two or Carter showed up.
Six had watched the exchange between Emile and the floating... mechanical ball with interest and caution, considering the way Emile was automatically attacking it. That is, until she heard a familiar voice, and had to step up into the scene and stare at the floating "eye."
"Meeting's supposed to be about taking those things out," he admits by way of apology, though if she has any experience with Spartans (ha!) she'll be able to tell he's completely relaxed now. "Or something like that."
His gaze keeps flickering between the hologram and the first up-close view he's had of working Forerunner technology. Huh.
"Noble Six." Cortana briefly glanced towards the new arrival. "Don't worry, we just had a little misunderstanding. It's as Noble Four says, confusing as it may be, I'm hear to brief you all on...these." She pointed back towards the Monitor her hologram was currently coming from.

"Get the hell out!" he shouted, firing at point-blank range with his shotgun.

Almost.
...Then again, how in hell would anyone outside Noble know about his collection?
He puts the grenade back into one of the many slots around his belt and tentatively stares at her. "You're serious."

"Sorry for not warning you ahead of time. I don't know how I wound up in this thing myself."

"So, Noble Four. My question from before?"

"Check with Carter to be sure, but I think so, yeah."
