The clock was blinking.
Dug couldn't fathom, for the life of him, why it was doing this and so he just continued to stare. The noise was making it difficult to pay attention, though, and Dug barked at the noisy appliance once, and twice, to no effect. It continued to alert him of something inexplicable, with increasing volume, and Dug shot it a confounded look. After a pause, he pawed at it and mashed some of the small buttons.
This seemed to appease the appliance and the small object then replied:
"Good Morning. The current time is 8:30 in the AM. It is Thursday."
Dug stared at the box, but it gave him no further information about Thursday. Apparently Thursdays had good mornings. He didn't know how much of the morning was left, as he was incapable of all but the most basic math, so Dug decided to investigate this morning. He would look around and see what made it good.
When he found it, he would bring it back, and share it.
