Clint is wandering around somewhere nearby, and despite thinking guns are crude and ineffective weapons (arrow snob, thy name is Barton), the sound of gunfire draws him in nonetheless. He examines Peggy's aim with a critical eye, but the nods in an approving, good-natured way.

"Wow, Agent Carter. That's quite the shot you have there."

She turns, recognizing the voice, and bites back a small prideful smirk. "I've done better. I'm not familiar with this model yet. Though I'm pleased with the first test shots, at least."

"Well if this is you on a test shot, consider me impressed." The tone of his voice indicates he does not offer that sentiment lightly.

Peggy stands up straighter, shoulders back, and allows herself that tiny smirk; she knows she's a good shot, and she doesn't need anyone to tell her that, but his tone combined with compliment just fuels her pride. "Everyone's got their area of expertise."

"True. But it's not every day you find someone who shares yours." Because if you ask Clint, the majority of people who use projectile weaponry have little to no idea of what they're doing. As much as he doesn't like guns, he can appreciate a fellow marksman who actually knows what she's doing.

"Anyone can use a gun," Peggy starts, lowering the one in her hands. "How well they do so is another story. Although I imagine in your case it's accuracy with arrows." Because she's never actually seen him shoot, but she did find his bow, and she's heard stories from Steve.

"Having a specialty doesn't mean I'm limited, Agent Carter." He crosses the rest of the distance between them and sort of holds his hands out for the gun.

"I never meant to imply otherwise," she replies, raising an eyebrow and handing the gun over to him. "Just that I know you have your preferences."

"Well, that's true enough." He turns it over for a second, examining it, and then, abruptly, raising it to take a step forward and mirroring her shots, precisely. After a moment, he hands the gun back, smirking.

"I guess as far as they go, this one isn't bad."

She watches him shoot, vaguely impressed at his skill as well. When she takes the gun from him, she nods in approval, especially if it was his first time using it.

"I'm not sure how much I like it myself just yet," she glances down at it, still working out all the kinks. "But your aim's not so bad either."

Her last comment has him pursing his lips to hide a smile--maybe on another occasion he would have felt the need to run his mouth a little, here, but Agent Carter's a lady and he's content to just nod.

"Always found guns a bit inelegant, myself," he replies, shrugging. "But I guess they come in handy."

"They do what I need them to. They're necessary and a comfort," she starts, resting the gun neatly and easily in her hands. She can't imagine not having one on her person at all times. "Though I'm not limited to one projectile either."

"I didn't think you would be," Clint admits, a bit ruefully. "Guess it just comes down to making due with what you can."

Though he's almost subconsciously reaching back to his quiver, before he realizes and stops himself. Thank god he didn't have to wander this place without his actual weapon of choice.

"Choice can be limited sometimes, unfortunately," Peggy replies with a nod.

She spots his slight movement, then follows the direction he moved and glances over to the quiver. "You're quite welcome to use my targets with that, if you wish. They're not the best, but they work."

Clint smirks. "Well, most targets don't survive long once I get to them, anyway."

Still, he had been wandering this area with a mind for some practice, so he finds himself snapping his bow into place, drawing an arrow, and firing, all in one fluid motion. He squints at the space where it lands, considering.

"Maybe we ought to set up a range."

"I can't say they fair much better with me either."

She watches him shoot, genuinely curious. She was never all that fond of arrows herself--lack of practice and largely unhelpful in her line of work--but he was quite good. Allow her to look vaguely impressed.

Then she nods in agreement. "Yes. Something more adequate and genuine. Something legitimate."
