This was a good idea, taking Soundwave out on a date. A proper date where it was just the two of them, spending time together doing... Things you do when you are involved. He hadn't done something like this since the Decepticon had returned from the planet, and it was likely overdue.
Soundwave had returned, things had gone wrong, and for a while he was hated - a memory that would be right there at the front of his mind for a long time. Then even when things were slightly patched up, he did something again to upset the cassette player. Yes, this was overdue. Some quiet time together, which didn't involve him working on revenge plots or other questionable projects.
Just time with Soundwave, time that involved being as overly affectionate as he was able. Precisely why he had picked out the particular restaurant and why he had pulled Soundwave into one of the booths to sit. A nice rounded booth where he could snuggle up next to him instead of having to sit across from him.
