One hated being alone, even if lately she was spending a lot of her time being exactly that. She was used to the comfort of other Spartans, other noises, the sound of breathing close by, and right when she thought that she was going to have her team, her Spartans they vanished.

It was too cruel.

But she was never much of a person to outwardly express how she was feeling. Despair was bottled away just like rage was, shoved down somewhere deep and dark and closed off where it wouldn't become a hindrance. But it had and the guilt of that was eating at her.

And maybe she hadn't been paying attention to how cruel keeping Prism was, because if anything One was spitefulWhen she walks into her room, she just expects it to be as usual -- they wouldn't really speak and both would go about their business -- but the Spartan pauses in the doorway, silver visor trained on the former-monitor as she feels a strange mix of emotions setting eyes on him like that. Emotions were something One was uncomfortable with herself, but she could tell. There's ( ... )

He looks up as she enters, but for once there isn't the immediate scowl or frown. Prism simply stares, watching her go about her business with the detached attention of one of the station security cameras. Even when she speaks, addressing him directly, his eyes merely narrow, his usual cattiness replaced with something closer to fatigue.

"Is it feeding time already? His heart isn't in it. Slowly, inevitably, he was coming to the conclusion that all his hate and fury and bitterness was just another symptom of something going wrong in his systems. Except he didn't have systems right now, did he? His current mood was just a mess of chemical imbalances he had no control over. Knowing the cause did nothing to alleviate his mood ( ... )

"No." Her response is quick, probably a little terse.

She'd given up.

That wasn't like her, but it's gone on too long. She doesn't look at Prism, placing her helmet down, and then begins to unclasp and remove the other pieces of her armor, setting the heavy equipment down after a visual inspection of each piece.

"Don't have a reason to."

"Why?"

Even a few weeks ago he wouldn't have cared. He'd have frowned at her, snarked a bit, then returned to whatever inane activity he was entertaining himself with. These days he was starved enough for some sort of input that he found himself taking an actual interest in such ridiculous things as her day.

He shifts slightly, turning to get a better look at her as she strips off her armor.

"Has something happened?"

One stops undressing when she gets down to her base suit, leaving the form fitting bit of body armor still on. She slips onto the bed curling up next to Prism, and lays her head down, her remaining eye trained on the monitor.

"Nothing happened. What's with you?"

Prism shrugs absently, a gesture he's disgusted with as soon as he makes performs it. It was one thing to have his hologram going through all the motions, but doing them now feels far too much like giving in to the filthy sack of meat he inhabits.

"I have been thinking. Do you have any long-term plans for me, or am I to sit idle in your quarters indefinitely?"

He doesn't mean to sound bitter, honestly, but it comes out that way regardless.

One props her head up on one hand and for a moment she feels somewhat guilty.

"No plans."

It's the truth, at least. She felt like she could better keep track of him if she kept him within her sight, but really, she'd just kind of turned him into some combination or what she thought having a pet and raising a child would be like. No plans beyond indulging in little domestic urges.
