We have come into contact with an individual who believes we are a threat. We do not wish to harm him. How can we convey our desire to become allies?

Have you verbally communicated your intention of non-aggression to the individual in question?

Yes.

What was the response?

[He assumes failure, of course, but to what degree?]

Creator-Veetor'Nara became, and remained, violent toward this terminal. Hostilities only ceased when we confiscated creator-Veetor'Nara's weaponry.

Understood.

In addition to Red's suggestion of a gift, or "peace offering" as it is considered in many human cultures, I recommend returning the weapon in a temporarily disabled but repairable state. Additionally, this station promotes long-distance communication, which would allow you to communicate your intentions from a distance that will bring harm to none of the involved persons.

Returning the weapons will not be necessary. Creator-Veetor'Nara's weapons were placed in his personal quarters before we exited the building.

[ a short pause ]

If creator-Veetor'Nara is willing to communicate with us, we wish to attempt to resolve this misunderstanding.

Excellent. Providing clean access to oneself and apologizing for the damages caused will demonstrate you have no underlying hostility.

Do you possess information regarding creator-Veetor'Nara's culture and, more particularly, customs of peace agreements or apologies?

We possess a large number of files on quarian culture. However, the bulk of this data was collected before the Morning War. Customs may have shifted since then. We are no longer sure if previously acceptable gestures remain appropriate.

[He makes a "hmm" sound.]

How long ago were these files created, relative to the average lifespan of an individual quarian?

Many files were originally formed over 300 years ago, although multiple revisions have been made. [ the briefest of pauses for some calculations ] Quarian life expectancy has altered significantly since the formation of the Flotilla--by our estimates, at least six generations have passed.

[Ah, too bad. Delta sighs.]

Then your assessment is most likely correct. Cultural shifts are almost certain to have occurred.

[Still, his progress with Sarah Connor does go to show that hatred of someone merely for their race is not necessarily absolute.]

Is there a mediator present on the station who may speak to you as well as creator-Veetor'Nara without engaging hostility?

We believe Shepard-Commander may function sufficiently as a mediator.

Acknowledged. Do not be discouraged by overly emotional responses.
