[Sacrosanct, you may be increasingly full of superheroes from every walk of life, death, and radioactive bite, but you appear to be low on the mild-mannered scientist quota. That's exactly why the vision that appears on video is just such a scientist: Dark hair that could use a cut and an expression caught between interest and barely restrained ( Read more... )

[Sketchy? Secret, maybe, but it's a point of pride that his branch of the program has been well-funded, documented... and, okay, discredited by a crazed madman gallivanting about as Thor, god of Thunder.

Maybe a WEE bit sketchy.]

Are you familiar with the term? Some call them meta-humans as well.

They are quite the same in my line of research. We've been using the term super soldier for decades now, but they coined meta-humans when the Ultimates first came together.

[But, why stop there? Different projects, different code words.]

What does the term mean to you?

[The sentiment hits him right there, in the heart. That thing in the chest that beats and -- oh, you get the sentiment. Thorlief is a prime example of getting in over one's head, he can't even pretend otherwise.]

There is no example if that devastating truth than Thorlief's, but when we can succeed at the task, the results better all humanity. Don't you agree?

Risks are part of every reward, Mister...?

[Have an appropriately sympathetic and devastated pause, then cautious scientific curiosity.]

I've never heard of such a result, though it was a possible outcome with my brother. Where does your experience stem from?

'I show you mine and you'll show me yours', is it?

It would help to know what you associate with the term 'super soldier' before I begin.

[Since you've not really clarified anything, or answered much in the way of his questions there, Mister.]

Then our definitions are one and the same.

[Curiouser and curiouser, and more of that caution concern can be heard in his tone.]

The methods behind these enhancements may be the key difference here.

Biomechanical in nature. I designed a belt that allowed the wearer complete meteorological control of the surrounding area. It allowed for a supersolder designation that could be reassigned in the event of personal corruption.

At least, until my brother stole the damn equipment.

[Perhaps proving the point, really.]

There are other schools of thought of the process behind the goal, but I am most interested in yours.

Have you ever tried to do combat with the weather? It's quite impossible for most.

[Storm, you don't count.]

Many programs turned to physical enhancements, but I find the methods provide erratic results. Did yours have any success?
