[And at this point, Kim is faced with the realization that, despite her cross-universal knowledge of Halo, she had never even considered the idea that some of the people in that armor might be female.

It had simply...never occurred to her.

The pause while she assimilates this knowledge is brief, but pronounced.]

Okay. What is your armor rated for radiation shielding?

[And when she does arrive, she'll find that the location given is in the warehouse district. The building are enormous, the avenues relatively narrow, and the whole thing probably screams five kinds of trap, to anyone with sense.

...wait, does that warehouse have an airlock grafted into where the door should be?

[Carolina looks about, her motion trackers set to long range. Hm. This looks dubious, to say the least.]

Well, this was probably not the best idea.

[There's at least one visible camera in the area, and like the rest of sacrosanct more than a hundred that aren't. It's mounted above the suspiciously airlock-shaped door, and it rotates to have a look at Carolina. There is a brief pause, and then a hiss as the door opens.

Witness the scientist: five foot four and all bones about it. She looks away from Carolina, down the empty corridor, then back. Expecting someone else?]

...Agent Carolina?

[A reasonable question- she got enough answers for that ad, after all.]

[She notices the one camera, suspects the rest, and more or less just stares it down as it turns to her.]

[She greets the scientist back with a slow nod.] Affirmative.

I don't believe I got your name.

[That much is easy to admit. But Carolina, as an idea, is extremely intimidating. Kimiko's never done well with 'intimidating.' Or anything that smacks of 'better than you,' really.]

Do you usually go on salvage runs for anyone that asks?

[Well, sadly Kim will be getting it in spades, because not only is Carolina wearing power armor, she's one of the highest ranking (dammit Texas) Freelancers and just reeks 'better than you'.]

Only when I'm stuck in a space station without anything else to do.

[So, she's staring, so what? You're the one who answered the ad! After a moment of thought, she manages to shake off the desire to facepalm and presents Carolina with a universal thumb drive.]

[She takes the tumb drive and stows it in an armor compartment.] Got it. Is there an explanation of these Rare Earth magnets in there?

[She can't. Can not. Has lost the ability to can. Kimiko turns on her heel and marches back into the lab, pausing only a moment in the threshhold before slamming the door.]

If you don't know what a rare earth magnet is, then there's no hope for you.

[Carolina just watches passively from behind her visor. What a strange, huffy little woman. She gives her head a little shake as she turns and heads off to get started, entirely aware that the cameras were most likely watching.]
