Shaun! [ This is an expression of utter relief, followed by confusion ]

[ She pushes her sleeves up and displays her arms, unbitten ] Shaun, where are we? Is Georgia here? Is everybody okay?

[Yes. Sag of relief. And a slight easing of the tension around his eyes.]

Hi. Um. Sorry about that. There was a crash and ... uh. Stuff happened.

[Deep breath.]

As you can tell by the tech - I love the holograms, too, by the way - definitely not home. This is a space station orbiting around a planet. Run by an AI that's not particularly sane.

The place does things to us which make the KA not air-transferable. Meaning, when people die, they don't amplify. Which is weird.

Now the next part. The space station is beside a rift. In space and time. And people and things come through that rift and ... show up here. And not necessarily from the same place or time. Like... I come from a bit later than you do. [Beat.] I had reason to remember what you were wearing, all right?

[ And this is the realisation of why Shaun would remember what she was wearing, and why he asked her to push her sleeves up, and she sucks in a sharp breath, trying not to cry ]

[ quietly ] Chuck didn't... didn't make it, did he?

Yeah, it really kinda is! I mean, it's all, there was a car crash and then I got whacked on the head and then I woke up in a space junkyard.

...The hologram thingy is pretty cool, though. I'm totally going to find something awesome to do with that.

It does sound like a space junkyard is the least of your worries, though.

[A pause, and then...] I've yet to finagle with the hologram feature.

Yeah, I guess it probably is. [ shaky laugh ] Hey, no big, though, some of my friends are here, so it can't be too bad to be here.

Ohmygod, seriously, it is the most amazing thing! I can't wait to just sit down and fiddle with it and see what the limits are. I can show you the basics I've figured out, but I get the feeling there is so much more you can do with it!

Panicking outside is not really, y'know, good. Zombies could sneak up on you and eat your face if you do. Though Shaun says that there aren't any zombies here? So I guess it's not really an issue...

I did get hold of Shaun. I'm waiting for him and Georgia to come pick me up.

[ That question, though... nobody's actually asked her that. Not even Shaun. Her smile wobbles, and she looks down. ] Well, I... I guess my boyfriend didn't make it, from what Shaun said. But, um, yeah. I-I'm okay. I think.
