We can't afford to keep reacting to events without thought. I mentioned some time ago the hazards of setting yourself up as the final moral authority.
[Would it be rude to say 'I told you so?' Motoko doesn't seem to care. What's your opinion on this 'Purge?' It's been said that it doesn't necessarily have to be initialized by Hypatia- there's more

Not sure. Everything was fine and then all sensors blanked out.
Definitely increases the chances of this whole place being an elaborate hack.

[But there's no real venom behind it. She's getting tired of amateur hour. It was kind of funny when it was just the Spartans; now it's their allies.]
There's a new safehouse. [She sends along the coordinates and the keys to both the Normandy personal radios and their patented network encryption.]
Your old shell is there.

[One can hear the shrug in his voice.]
But if you give a program enough sentience, you have to deal with the possibility they'll interpret their directives in a way you don't like some day.
[Heh heh oops.
He's not encrypting because why bother. Sigh.]

[Flynn's experience with his problem child didn't turn out nearly so well as Kusanagi's with the tachikoma.]

There's also the fact that we're actually dealing with plural versions of the same AI. At least two- the secondary personality seems defense-oriented.
[Which is at least one explanation for what it was doing with all that pilfered storage space.]
Of course, it's just as likely that Hypatia had only very little to do with it. People are perfectly capable of circumventing a system that allows this kind of disregard for death, if they really want to.

[Well, for groups larger than fifty or so, anyways.]
Do you think the previous residents left willingly? They were killed.

A million individuals would be redundant. That's your answer, right there: choke points in the system.
Someone's altering the playing field.

[Shepard, while she cares about the Purge, doesn't really care who initiated it beyond a strictly historical standpoint. Any route, she's invested in ending Hypatia.]
What?

[She smirks- it's probably audible in her tone.]
I think you'll enjoy this: I need you to kill me.

[Shepard is silent for a beat.]
So, you want me to kill you to test out how the resurrection process works?

[And the other reason; how far would you trust military hardware produced under the control of Hypatia?]
I'd like to do as little damage to my actual body as possible. It's expensive, and I can reuse it afterwards.
[Which yes, is exactly as creepy as it sounds.]
