[Despite Raimi's absence, he still somehow manages to sport that been-through-Hell-and-back look... or some variety of the kind. It's not just apparent because of the fresh cuts on his face or the newly cracked lenses of his glasses, either ( Read more... )

You look like you got run over by a Peterbilt, darlin'.

Can't say I've had that happen around here. Question I've gotta ask, though. Was it something you've lost, or something you've gained?

[Missing a few days? Yeah, he's been there. And got a new face and a whole new set of problems.]

[Darling? Really?]

That's what they say. Don't think I've much room to disagree.

...I'm not sure. Maybe it's a little bit of both. Time lost here and time gained there... Makes just about as much sense as anything else that happens here.

[In the scheme of pet names, darling is really the mildest.]

Not until you get some ointment or bandages, you can't.

Sounds about right. Other places, anyway. Though I'll bet y'gained more than just time from that.

[Oh. Well then. Good thing Raimi isn't daunted by such things.]

Unless you think I want to go around sporting a Claude Rains look, I think toilet paper dabs will work just fine.

You could say that.

[Even if Raimi was, a reaction would just encourage Barricade to get more outlandish. Skyfire's going to be lucky if he's only called "cupcake".]

Hey, it ain't a completely terrible look. Worked f'r him, didn't it?

Sorry to hear that I guessed right, then.
[Really. He is.]

[That's too bad. You could call Raimi "lover" and he'd still be pretty pokerfaced.]

Sure, though I'd be right to avoid the madness that preceded the look.

I think I'm past sympathies at this point, but thanks.

["Lover" is usually reserved for certain people - that aren't here - or for when Barricade feels a real need to unsettle someone. It'd accompany licking if he only had a tongue.]

Madness is all very relative.

Likely sympathies are the best I c'n offer, sadly.

[Not even licking would faze Raimi that much... but he prefers his personal space.]

I guess it depends on how you look at it.

[He leaves it at that -- what's done is done, after all.]

[Some people around here are just a little too zen to play with.]

A lot does, I've found.

[There's little need to elaborate beyond that.]

[In Raimi's case, zen has a little less to do with it and more to do with the fact that he's utterly shameless to start with.]

Is that right?

[Okay, he'll indulge a little with that "need".]

[Well, and then there's those people. Though they're more fun to watch when they go after someone else.]

Yep. Mental state. Ideologies. How much that deals with sex is "too much". How wars come out - there may only be one victor but both sides see themselves as the one in the right.

[Somebody has had time to think about these things.]

[Too true.]

You know how it goes -- we're all masters of our own destruction.

[Raimi gets that philosophy all too well.]

And when the destruction of something important to you?

[Just curious to hear Raimi's thoughts on it.
It's an important thing for him, after all.]

I don't have anything important anymore -- not sure if I ever did in the first place.

[Or, at least what he does value he can't quite describe in petty words.]

That all depends too, really. Sometimes you don't value things now that y'used to... or value something now that you hadn't before.

[And not just 'things' either.]

I value the fact that I'm not a shocked, charred crispy critter at the moment. Does that count?
