First of all, ANDREA WAS HERE!!!! Yay, my fiance had an audition for Maria in West Side Story, so we got to play while she was in town.
Then at an audition I ran into Aaron Umstead, and Paul Sabala from MT Wichita, then in the lobby I ran into Kaite Postotnick (also from MT Whichita). Quite funny, actually, because I thought she was Andrea from behind, so I got in her face, realized she wasn't Andrea, then realized I actually knew her. Odd. She was going to lunch with our friend Chris (also from MT Wichita), so Andrea and I joined them.
I had a job interview to promote Broadway shows at TKTS, but not in an annoying or embarrasing way. Andrea and I got pizza, then headed back to Times Square to see the lights dim for Natasha Richardson.
We posted out on 45th street in Shubert Alley to get a good view of a bunch of theatres. After a couple minutes, we realized we were standing next to a crowed that consisted of Joe Mantello, Allison Janey, Sara Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Laura Linney, Joley Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, and Liam Neeson. Absolutely unbelievable. They held on tight to each other as the lights dimmed, shouted her name, and applauded when it was over. The media swarmed in as soon as the lights went back on, which made me feel sick to my stomach.
All in all, quite powerful to be standing there. I still can't get over it.
