Countdown

Seussical ended today. It was bittersweet, as it always is. The sweet part was the show ending. I loved everyone and everything in the productions, but the role and show itself can kiss it. I'd rather not play Cat in the Hat again. Although I'm open to playing Horton. The bitter part is leaving the people and this fantastic theatre that has been so great to me these past few months. I was talking to the artistic director at the after party and he said to make sure I come to the Evita auditions is New York in a couple weeks.   He said if I have a problem being seen to give him a call, so it was nice to hear that he isn't opposed to hiring me back.

Speaking of New York, I leave on Monday.  This is the big leap.  Sure I did showcase and went on an audition or two back in March, but this is for keeps now.   I'm excited and scared which is expected I'm sure.  My flight lands around 4, so I think that by the time I get my bags and get to my apartment it will be around 5.  My luggage isn't too bad right now.  It looks as if I'll be shipping 2 or 3 boxes, checking 2 bags (for only $40, thank you airlines) and a carry on.  I was expecting a lot worse.  Now I'll just need to find a job job to keep me afloat and pound the pavement!

Christmas was good this year.  It was rather low key.  We did our traditional Italian Feast of Seven fish this year, with seven different types of fish.  (We normally cheat and just do four)  I got a clock radio with an iPod dock, a new electric razor, a luggage set, a day planner, and a NYC area coupon book ($7.50 AMC tickets, holla!).  This was in addition to the usual money.  My oldest niece and nephew got a really neat gift.  They went on a scavenger hunt for their Santa gift and at the end were their suitcases and backpacks all packed and a plane ticket to Boston (where all my relatives live) for that morning.  So they flew to Boston, and surprised my Dad's side of the family (since they didn't know either) when they showed up at my Grandparents house Christmas evening.  Not the cheapest gift ever, but one they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

And Frost/Nixon is excellent.  Go see it.
