Title: Sins of the Father (2/10)
Author: singoutloud25
Pairing: Hyunsung, JunSeung (main), DooSeob, KiWoon
Rating: R
Summary: The lives of these six young men would now forever be changed. They will become what they once feared and hated. They will become violent, dangerous, aggressive, and one will even become a murderer. They will become feared, hated, strong, and powerful. Some will grow to hate themselves and some will become dead and numb inside. Some will lose hope and some will never dare to dream.
Author's Notes: The point that I hope to convey throughout this story is that true friendship (a bond of love and trust and faith) is so strong that it can withstand anything. That the bond of true friendship (even when you are pulled away from and forced to leave the ones you love) will always remain, even when you feel that all is lost, that bond still remains deep within you.

Prologue 1/ Prologue 2/ Chapter 1

Chapter 2

Hyunseung woke to a very obnoxious ringing. He scrunched his eyes closed; trying to block out the heinous sound and after a moment the noise disappeared. He relaxed his eyelids and settled back into his pillow. And, just as he was about to doze back off to sleep, the ringing began again.

“What the fuck?” Hyunseung groaned. He tried to think of what the noise could be and when he realized that it was his phone he began searching around his bed for it. He found it underneath one of his pillows just before the last ring.

“Hello.” It was grumbled.

“Wake the fuck up you lazy ass!”

Hyunseung yawned. “Good evening to you too Doojoonie.”

“Don’t call me that!” Came the snappish response. Hyunseung smiled.

“Fine. What do you want Yoondoo?”

“Mother fucker. I swear you’re the only person who talks to me like that. Why the hell do I let you?”

Hyunseung yawned again. “Because you love me.”

There was a grumble and a faint “Fuck you” on the other line. Hyunseung smirked.

“Seriously though Doojoon, what is it?” Hyunseung flung his covers off, got out of bed and headed towards the bathroom.

“I need to talk with you and some of the others. Meet in my office in 1 hour.” There was a short pause. “And don’t fucking be late.”

“Yes sir Joonie!” Hyunseung grinned when he heard “Son of a bitch” before Doojoon hung up.

Hyunseung set his phone on the sink and looked at himself in the mirror. He looked like shit. His cheek was now a nasty yellowish blue color and his eyes had serious dark circles under them. He had slept maybe five hours in the past three days and it was all because of Junhyung and what Hyunseung knew he needed to do, what he was going to do later that night.

He sighed and undressed. He stepped into the shower and turned the water on to the hottest that he could stand it. He took a deep breath as he rested his hands on the shower wall, letting the water run over him.

Ever since he agreed to do whatever he could to help get through to Junhyung, Hyunseung’s mind and heart had been overcome with varied emotions. He was terrified of course. Terrified that Junhyung would lose it completely when he saw him and then kill him. Which, unfortunately, he was sure Junhyung was capable of doing.

He was also worried. Worried for Yoseob and what was going to happen to him when Junhyung finds out about Yoseob’s relationship with Hyunseung. Worried for Junhyung if he couldn’t get through to him. And he worried for himself. Hyunseung was worried about what this encounter was going to do to his heart and how it was going to affect his already crazy feelings for Junhyung.

But the emotion, feeling, that was most dominant was excitement. Hyunseung couldn’t deny how excited he was to see Junhyung after all these years. He knew it wasn’t going to be some fairytale reunion, he wasn’t an idiot, fairytales didn’t exist, especially in their world. But he was still excited. The urge to see Junhyung, the first and only man he would ever love, was so strong, so overwhelming. It had been four years. He wanted to see Junhyung’s face, even if it was glaring at him. He wanted to feel Junhyung’s skin, even if that meant getting punched in the face or being the one doing the punching.

He wanted Junhyung to be better. Yoseob had been telling Hyunseung for months how bad Junhyung was getting. And it hurt Hyunseung every time he heard about it. Junhyung, none of them, deserved to hate themselves. These weren’t the lives they were meant to live. And if it meant getting himself hurt, destroying a part of himself even, to make things better, then so-be it. Hyunseung was tired of this life. He was tired of watching the people he loved dwindle away into the things they used to hate.

Yoseob was right. Confronting Junhyung was the first step into changing their worlds and Hyunseung was willing to risk everything for that.

With a new resolve Hyunseung finished showering. He got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist. As he turned the corner to step out of the bathroom he immediately jumped, letting out a shocked yelp.

“Holy shit Kikwang!” Hyunseung took a deep breath, regaining his composure. “How the hell did you get in here?” Hyunseung was positive he locked the door.

Kikwang smirked. “Chansung taught me how to pick locks.”

Hyunseung gave himself a mental reminder to slap Chansung upside the head. He walked over to his closet.

“Why the hell is it that you never seem to be dressed when I’m here?” Kikwang plopped himself on Hyunseung’s unmade bed.

“Because you come at the worst possible times.” Hyunseung picked out a pair of black jeans, black studded belt, white v-neck tee, and a black vest. He then turned to Kikwang.

“Why the hell are you here?”

“Doojoon sent me to make sure that you weren’t late.” Hyunseung decided that Doojoon needed to be slapped also. “The meeting seems pretty important. Only a select few of us were asked to attend.”

“Well I’m obviously not running late so you can leave now so I can get dressed.”

A mischievous grin formed on Kikwang’s lips. “Doojoon told me to not let you out of my sight.” He leaned back on the bed on his elbows.

Hyunseung glared. “I’m going to be naked Kikwang.”

“It’s not like I haven’t seen you naked before.”

Hyunseung scoffed. “Yeah, when we were in gym in high school.”

Kikwang grinned. “So?”

“You pervy little shit.” Hyunseung grabbed his clothes and headed to the bathroom.

Kikwang pouted. “You suck.”

“And you blow.” Hyunseung shut the bathroom door, Kikwang’s laughter echoing in his ears.
~~*~~

As Hyunseung and Kikwang walked into Doojoon’s office Hyunseung made sure to slap Chansung on the back of the head.

“What the fuck?” Chansung rubbed the back of his head.

Hyunseung ignored him and sat down in his usual seat, he and Kikwang had one each. Doojoon walked in a few seconds later, a young man, whom Hyunseung had never seen before, trailing behind him. Doojoon sat in his seat while the unknown male stood next to him.

“Everyone this is Minho. He has some information he would like to share with us.”

Minho didn’t look scared at all, Hyunseung mused. Usually people looked like they wanted to shit themselves when they stood in front of the group of people Minho was.

Minho cleared his throat. “I work for my uncle down at the east side docks. I help him manage the books. Recently my uncles gambling problem has gotten, well, severe. He’s in serious debt and the money that comes in from the usage of the dock isn’t enough to cover his debts and his way of living. So he’s decided to turn to…other measures.”

“What kind of measures?” It was Taecyeon who asked.

“Drugs.”

“You mean selling drugs?”

“Yes selling them.”

The room went silent, everyone thinking the same thing. No one sold drugs in this city but them and Junhyung’s side. No one. It was one of the cardinal rules of Seoul. You never ever cross the Yoon or Yong gangs. Never.

“How was he planning on doing this?” Hyunseung was most anxious to hear this part.

“He spent the last bit of money he had on a shipment from a private seller in Busan. He paid for 2 crates of cocaine. The seller put the crates on a ship 5 days ago. Tomorrow the crates will be transferred onto a smaller boat and by nightfall in 2 days the crates will be at my uncle’s dock.”

“How did he think he could get away with this? How did he think he could keep people quite?” It was Doojoon this time.

“He promised me and 10 other men a large sum of money for our silence and help with selling the drugs. He plans on selling it for a smaller amount than you, hoping that that will keep the buyers and addicts quiet.”

Hyunseung couldn’t help the next question that he asked. He had to know why they should trust him.

“Why are you telling us? What about the loyalty to your uncle?”

At this Minho’s eyes became dark, his face a glare. “My uncle is a sick twisted piece of shit. He’s spineless, weak, and a disgrace. He ruined my fathers life, destroyed my mother, and still thinks that it’s okay to call me family. He deserves to rot in hell.”

That was a good enough reason for Hyunseung and judging by the nodding heads around him the others agreed. And if Doojoon trusted him enough to bring him here, to their home, then that was also a good reason.
“So what’s the plan?”

Doojoon looked at Jiyeon. “That’s why I asked the five of you here. You’re the ones I trust the most and I want your opinions.”

Taecyeon and Chansung walked out of the room for a few seconds and then came back with four chairs. They set them around Doojoon’s desk and those who were standing sat down.

Chansung clapped his hands together. “Lets start planning.”
~~*~~

Four hours later Doojoon stood up and stretched. “Then it’s all settled. We make our move in four days when the shipment arrives. Everyone can leave. Go out and enjoy yourselves tonight. You all deserve a break.”

They all smiled and began to file out, taking chairs with them.

“Hyunseung and Minho,” Doojoon cut in “You two stay please.”

Doojoon waited for the door to close behind the others. He then turned his attention to Minho. “Minho, if you feel at all like your uncle has caught onto you talking to us I want you to come back here immediately.” Minho nodded his head in understanding. “And I should warn you that if you cross us the consequences will be severe. The lives of my family will be put at stake in 2 days and I will not take it lightly if something happens to them.”

“I assure you sir that I have no intention of crossing you or your family. I want my uncle to suffer not succeed.”

“Very good. You may leave now. And remember, if anything should change you contact me immediately.”

“Of course. Goodbye sirs.” Minho then left, closing the door behind him.

“Are you sure we can trust him?”

Doojoon sat back down in his chair. “We don’t really have a choice with an accusation this big. And I don’t see any reason why he would lie.”

Hyunseung nodded his head. “Was there something you wanted to speak to me about?”

Doojoon gave a half grin. “Yeah, I want you to keep an eye on Minho. Make sure he doesn’t do anything that’s going to get him figured out. And tomorrow night I would like you to take Kikwang and Jiyeon to the dock and check it out. Get a feel for the area and the men then report back to me.”

“All right. Anything else?”

Doojoon was quiet for a minute. He observed Hyunseung, truly observed him, for what felt like the first time in ages. He noticed that Hyunseung’s skin was paler than usual, his body a little skinner and not as muscular as he used to keep it. He noticed the dark circles under his eyes and that was when he noticed how empty Hyunseung’s eyes were, how lifeless they seemed.

Hyunseung cleared his throat; he was a little uncomfortable being stared at. Doojoon shook his head, trying to focus.

“No that’s all.”

Hyunseung turned around and headed towards the door. His hand was on the knob, ready to turn it, when Doojoon’s voice stopped him.

“You’ve lost that sparkle that you used to have in your eyes.”

Hyunseung stood still for a moment. He then opened the door and looked over his shoulder.

“There’s nothing for them to sparkle about.” He then walked out the door.

Doojoon sighed. “I hope you find something to bring it back.” It was whispered to an empty room.

~~*~~

Junhyung stood in front of the large bay window in his room, the only light coming from the city outside. His mind raced with Yoseob’s words. They were the same words his own, seemingly shattered, heart screamed at him on a daily bases. Words that he ignored and pushed aside. Words that he didn’t want to believe.

He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. They were the words of truth, he knew it, but his pride, his self-loathing would never let him admit to it. Junhyung rested his palms on the window.

He hated himself. He despised himself. Every time he saw his reflection he would cringe at the monster he saw, the monster he was. His heart would beg him not to. It would beg him to look deeper inside himself, but he would ignore it every time.

He had given up on feelings and matters of the heart long ago. He had given up on everything long ago. His views and ideals of the world were pushed so far down that he doubted they could ever be found again. In his eyes, promises were meant to be broken, dreams were meant to be shattered, friendships were never meant to last, hearts were meant for those not in his world, and love…love was meant for those with souls, for those who deserved it.

Love was what he experienced when he was younger, when a certain dark haired doe-eyed boy made him feel wanted, needed, and alive.

More of Yoseob’s words rang in his ear.

You need to find something to help you get yourself under control Junhyung!

Hyunseung had always helped him find control. No matter what the situation was Hyunseung had always been there to balance him out.

Junhyung closed his eyes as images of him and Hyunseung clouded his mind. The two of them crying over the deaths of their mothers. The two of them beating the shit out of whoever pissed them off. The two of them touching, kissing, loving.

Junhyung squeezed his eyes shut tighter as he relived the first, and only, time he and Hyunseung made love. It was a few days before the deaths of their fathers. Junhyung had been hiding out in one of the abandoned classrooms, avoiding the world as much as he could, when he heard a noise outside of the door. He had hidden in the closet just as the door to the room burst open…

Junhyung left the closet door open a crack to see who had come in. He watched as Hyunseung slammed the classroom door shut behind him, throw his bag across the room, and then burry his head in his hands. Junhyung’s eyes narrowed as he heard a sob escape Hyunseung’s hands. He was about to make his presence known until Hyunseung began to yell.

“MOTHER FUCKER!” Hyunseung picked up one of the desks and threw it. The desk crashed into several others.

“I FUCKING HATE YOU!” Another desk was picked up and thrown.

“STUPID PIECE OF SHIT!” The third desk was thrown at the closet, slamming it shut in Junhyung’s face.

Before Hyunseung could throw another desk Junhyung pushed the closet door open.

“Watch where you’re throwing shit you fucker!”

Hyunseung glared at Junhyung, tears streaming down his bruised face.

Junhyung’s eyes narrowed. “What the fuck happened to you?”

Before Junhyung knew what was happening Hyunseung had him by the collar of his shirt and pressed up against the teachers desk.

“What the fuck do you care?” It was said through clenched teeth and a swollen lip.

Junhyung stared at Hyunseung. He looked into his tired sad eyes and Junhyung’s heart begged for him to say ‘I’ve always cared. I always will.’ But instead he said, “I don’t.”

“Fuck you then.” Hyunseung went to turn around to leave, but a cold hand on his wrist stopped him. And before he could protest, not that he would have, Junhyung crashed their lips together.

The kiss was hard and rough, full of want and frustration. And before either knew what they were doing, their clothes were off and their bodies were on the floor, giving each other love in the way they had always wanted to, in the way they knew they would never be able to again.

When they were done, the two laid there on the floor, naked in each other’s arms. No words were spoken. And when the light outside slowly began to fade the two of them, silently, got dressed, gathered their things, and left in separate directions.

Junhyung would never forget the last look they gave one another. A look that said ‘I love you. I’m sorry. Goodbye.’ He had already lost his best friends, the people he loved, and in that one moment with Hyunseung, he lost a part of himself, the part that kept his soul intact.

“Fuck!” Junhyung banged his fist against the window causing it to vibrate against his forehead.

He opened his eyes and stood up strait. He shook his head and cleared out all thoughts of Hyunseung and his past. Because that’s what it was. It was all the past life of a child living in a fantasy world. He was living in the real world, if you could call it living. His lips formed a grim line, because he, Yong Junhyung, was soulless, heartless, and full of hatred for himself. He had become exactly what he was brought up to be, a nightmare living in Hell.

Junhyung let out a bitter laugh. Nightmares and Hell have no hope and no happy endings.

There was a knock at his bedroom door.

“Come in.”

Mir opened the door and cautiously walked in. It would be a lie if he said the sight in front of him didn’t intimidate him. Junhyung was standing in the dark in front of a window that let little light in, his hands were clasped behind his back, and his posture was strait, strong, and, well, intimidating.

Mir cleared his throat. “Sir?”

“What is it Mir.” His voice was hollow.

“You wanted to be informed when Yoseob left again. And, well, he just left…again.”

“How long ago?”

“Five minutes. Joon is following him and he has his phone on vibrate. He’s awaiting your orders.”

Junhyung finally turned around to look at Mir. “Call him and tell him to call me as soon as Yoseob reaches his destination.”

“Yes Sir.”

“And Mir,” Junhyung walked over towards the door, “This stays between me, you, and Joon.”

“Of course.” Mir waited until Junhyung was out of sight before he let out a shutter. Whatever Yoseob was up to he hoped that it was nothing that would send Junhyung finally over the edge.

~~*~~
Junhyung reached the Hotel just as Joon walked back outside.

“What room?”

“25. Its on the second floor, up the right stair case and all the way at the end of the hall.”

“Did you see anyone else?”

“No, but the kid at the counter seemed…stressed by my appearance. I think that if you walk in there he will call the room Yoseob’s in and warn him.”

Junhyung’s eyes narrowed. What the fuck was Yoseob doing here and who was he with?

“Do whatever you have to, to keep the kid away from the phone. Wait five minutes then leave. I’ll handle Yoseob.”

Joon nodded his head in understanding and headed for the doors.
“And Joon,” Junhyung’s voice was oddly quiet, “this stays between me, you, and Mir. And don’t hurt the kid.”

Joon nodded again and headed inside. Junhyung counted to twenty before heading in. As he passed the counter he saw Joon holding the clerks hands behind his back with one hand while the other covered the kids mouth.

When he reached the room Junhyung hesitated for a moment. What if whatever was going on behind the door was something he wasn’t going to be okay with? Or what if it was Yoseob meeting his lover? Junhyung sighed. Either way, he was about to lose Yoseob and Yoseob’s trust.

He knocked on the door. There was some shuffling and voices. He could make out Yoseob’s, but not the other male.

He knocked again. The door opened, a worried looking Yoseob hiding behind it.

“What are you doing here Junhyung?”

Junhyung pushed his way in and stood in the entryway, facing Yoseob. “I could ask you the same thing.”

Yoseob bit his lip and stared at Junhyung.

“He’s here to meet me.”

Junhyung froze. He knew that voice, it, along with its owner consumed his memories. He turned around, his eyes narrowing as they made contact with Hyunseung’s.

“Hello Junhyung.”
