Ya know that big snow storm MI just had last night? Yeah,... I drove in that all the way from East Lansing at 10:30pm.... Pretty stupid I know. But i had to visit some friends I haven't seen in a couple years, and since I'd already cancelled on them once, I really wanted to see them last night. We had a fun time, going bowling, and one of them showed me how he mixes. He's pretty good at dj-ing. Wish I'd hired him for my grad party... Anyhoo, my score on our one game of bowling was 76... wooooo... Sean won with a perfect 100. Jay just nearly missed his older brother by 2 points and got 98. The snow started to fall just after I arrived, and it was even hard for us to drive down to the bowling alley. We ate at the Lounge... which is reallly BK. And we laughed about former campers at the camp we used to work at. Fun times... But I'm glad I still have contact w/ those guys because they're a lot of fun. So I left at about 10:30, barely made it to the highway. And thought I was going to die about a million times. It was just such a bad drive, I don't know where to start to complain about it. But I know I'll NEVER do that again! So scary...
So I got to Lansing from Grand Rapids, where I visited my grandma and Wells side of the family (my mom's side). I went to a nice jazz trio concert at her church w/ my cousin (in-law), Michele, her baby girl, Selah, my aunt Cheryl, and Grandma. I also went to my uncle Dave's 7th and 8th grade band concert, which is always fun to watch my relatives direct their bands and orchestras (including my mom, I have two other uncles who are band directors, and my wonderful Grandpa was one too, though he was retired before I got to see him in action, and then there's my two cousins, Mark and Greg who are both band directors). Wednesday we ate lunch at Michele's house w/ my cousin Mark (her brother in-law) and little Selah. I took about 35 pictures of her with various other relatives. She's just so cute! And is at the age where she knows she has a voice now, so she can say Dada and Moma, but her favorite is squeeling in multiple pitches with a huge smile on her face! She also has the cutest little blonde fro on just the top of her head, so I got as many shots of that as i could.
That night Michele and Greg (my cousin, her hubby) and Selah and I went to Dave and Cheryl's house to visit and play Ping-Pong!!! Every time I'm in GR, I just HAVE to play ping pong at their house!!!! We double up into teams, and it's just the most hilarious time! Who ever thought ping pong could be so exhilerating?! Dave and my other uncle Tom used to be state champions back when they were teenagers, so Dave has taught me a lot and really knows how to make it an exciting game! Then Thursday Grandma and I just hung around the house, playing christmas carols on tape and watching Martha Stewart. Later I gave Michele and Selah a ride to DeWitt so they could meet up w/ Greg for his band concert. It would have been fun to see his concert, but previous plans had already been made.
So now I'm home, I'm alive, and I'm recovering from the scariest night in my life. I think I'll make some cocoa, eat some food, maybe brush my teeth and get out of my pajamas finally, and then IF i'm up for it, venture down the driveway to get my grandma's famous cheesy potatoe dish out of my car, which is stuck off the side of the driveway (cuz i tried to drive it up last night... though i knew it was a lost cause....). Mmmm cheesy potatoes sound REEEEEAALLLY good right now...
yay for family and digital cameras!
