Strotman Ultimatum

The tickets have been booked for my bike trip (July 27-August 7) and the farms have been contacted for Costa Rica Nothing finalized in with the farms in Costa Rica in the hopes that I can convince my work to let me take a position there.  Then came the hard part...tell my boss my plans.   I had been working on the speech for about a week or so.  One hour and twenty-one minutes ago I finally worked up the nerve to tell Janice (my boss).  I told myself I would NOT take no for an answer.  Earlier in the week Janice informed me that she would be retiring July 29th.  This meant that now was a bad time for my big announcement.  She was shocked and a bit aggravated at first.  She agreed with the leave of absence for the bike trip.  That means I will be insured for the bike trip (yea for me!).  She wasn't so sure about the Costa Rica idea.  It is extremely hard for someone at my level within the company to take a position in another country and she made a big point in telling me that.  I told her that I might be forced to leave the company in that case and she offered to help me try to find a position elsewhere.  She posed the question "Why Costa Rica?" and offered the idea of other countries around the world that might be a better option.  I told her I would consider other places but Costa Rica would be the first choice.  She did say however that these things take time and it could be a while before this works out which could pose a problem for me.  I feel like I have been waiting forever to leave.  I don't know how much longer I can wait.   So now I am one third of the way there.  The bike trip has been Okayed.  Now I have to search the open job posting at my work and see if there is any way to get out of here asap.  Talk to people and find out what is possible and if it is possible.  Oh and I have to finish work on and sell my house.  Fuck me I am going to be busy for the next two months.  Ideas?  Suggestion?
