I need a job....and money!

Apr 14, 2006 20:25

So I got my oil changed in my car today. That was $35 and of course I had to gas up also, that was $45. The guy who changed the oil in my car told me that my front tires are bald and I need new ones....that will be $300. And I have no money because I am a poor nursing student with no job.

I am trying to fix this problem. I plan to continue my on campus part time job and my nanny job over the summer, but since i have to take classes, that will not be enough money to cover expenses especially since I will not be recieving ANY scholarship money over summer. So I applied with a generic application to Florida Hospital and I applied for a full time nurse tech position at South Seminole Hospital. I hope I get something! Does anyone have any ideas of other places I can get a tech job?

I had to decide by today if I was going to participate in an internship over the summer, and I have decided not to. Here is my reasoning. First I have to PAY for it since it is considered a class. Also I would want ORHS rather than Florida Hospital because ORHS hospitals are closer to my house, and the teacher that is the preceptor is Dr. Smith, who I do not care for. Also since it is a class, I have to do homework and work the schedules of the nurse I am assigned to- who knows what hours that would be. Anyways I am putting all my energy into finding a job.

I worked at a birthing center in high school and I am going to call them to see if they will hire me. Also, since I went to a medical high school, and my teachers were nurses, I will call them to see if they can connect me to someone. Then as a last ditch effort to find something, I will apply as a nurse tech to nursing homes around my house. There are a couple, but I hate wiping old people's ass' and I do NOT want to do that, but I would if I cannot find something else.

In other news, there is only 2 weeks left of this semster, I am done on May 1st and I have 2 weeks off before summer school. Summer school shouldn't be too bad, It is only 9-4 on tuesday and thursday.

I probably won't do Honors in the Major, just because it seems like a lot of work, and I am lazy like that.

As usual, my life completely revolves around nursing. I eat, sleep, and breathe nursing. But in 2 weeks, I will officially be a senior. That sounds so weird, but it's also kind of nice- and a little scary- because after I am a senior, I (hopefully) graduate, have to find a REAL job and will have a :gulp: career. All in good time.

What's new with all of you?
