(no subject)
Regarding the last entry, I had just spent the evening with Austin and he told me about how the crime around USC has been exploding off the charts and he's completely baffled as to why this year has been so much sketchier than all previous years. Walking back to my dorm, I was just having this massive "so... why exactly do I want to be here?" moment. But there's a lot of other things to focus on. Today was good, and for some reason I felt extremely comfortable. Comfortable in my room, which was recently organized (but not vacuumed), and comfortable with the roommate.
Yes, procrastination becomes a huge issue in college. It's not like you have regular assignments you turn in the next day to get graded. You just have a shitload of reading and you feel little motivation to get it done. You might have motivation to get it started, like "oh wow, this is actually interesting stuff." Goddam, it really IS. All of my classes cover extremely interesting material. But then the TV goes on, the laptop whips open, and friends come flooding in to listen to music, beg you to come to dinner, or encourage you to go to the gym for a while. And honestly, you don't need to get that reading done today, because for christ's sake, it's just reading.
There are some enlightening things I could share with you all from the readings I have done so far, but I'm too tired right now, and there's actually a purpose for this post:
Not to be a moochy bitch or a bitchy mooch, but my laptop won't (for some reason) download Mytunes. It's either really dumb or way too clever, but the point is, I feel like I haven't acquired new exciting music in TOO long a time, so if anyone has any of the following albums they could so whorishly put up on rapidshare or mediafire, I'd be the happiest pre-birthday boy in the universe.
-the new Animal Collective album
-Panda Bear... emily saltz, will your eyes ever stumble upon this LJ again?
-Klaxons
-any good Ed Rec shit you might have lying around, because it might become my new obsession
-whatever you'd like to share with the world, being such a generous soul
i'll post on more important subjects later... have i said that before?
