breakfast foods...earthmamiOctober 28 2003, 10:15:53 UTC
My kids are only 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 but I'm lazy when it comes to food so I stick to the easy stuff... Fresh fruit is good and easy (slice an apple, peel a banana or orange, peaches, necatrines, anything really) I just buy whatever is in season cuz it's cheaper. They LOVE yogurt and it's good for you... glass of juice or milk or water. Slice of toast. Quesadilla's are good with some lunch meat chopped up and added in, also scrambled eggs. And since kids don't appreciate omlettes I will throw in some shredded cheese and chopped lunch meat (again) and scramble it all up. I use lunch meat with a lot of things, can you tell? Also, sometimes I'll use the american sliced cheese and some lunch meat (you can use whatever you like, there are quite a few types... turkey, ham, beef... I prefer smoked turkey or ham thinly sliced...)and a bagel or english muffin or a couple slices of bread put the cheese on one side, the meat on the other, pop it in the toaster oven and when it's done, everything is tasty warm and melted. One thing for sure: When they have breakfast at home, they always have fruit. They love it and it's good for them, and easy for me.
