Today in Comm class that brown-haired boy breathlessly rushed in and sat next to me. He was several minutes late; I couldn't help but wonder if he had just arrived in class or if he had moved from the back to sit with me. I immediately got butterflies in my tummy. But then I caught the smell of smoke and it fell in disappointment.
Does this kid smoke? I hadn't considered that potential, but if so his attractiveness to me akes a savage beating. I suddenly found myself uncomfortable next to him, confused as to whether or not his warm-eyed interest was a good thing. Fortunately our professor Axel started a video a half minute later, and we subsided into casual silence as we learned about Enron's tragic collapse. Then we were given an in-class assignment and we briefly worked together as a group, fell silent again and doodled during lecture, and finally spoke again at the end of class.
He asked me what I was doing this weekend and then invited me to a friend's party, which I accepted with a request that he send me more details on it whenever he knew about them. I said I'd add him on Facebook and he jokingly said he'd make an event, prompting us both to make fun of our nerdiness before saying goodbye and parting ways.
Do I have hopes for this guy? Not really, but once again I smiled the whole way home.
This is officially the first time I have ever 'met a guy' in class. :)
Little things like this really help my self-esteem, reminding me that I don't have to resort to the patio of Skye Bar for attracting male attentions. Not that I don't enjoy the patio at Skye Bar (sometimes I make the most unlikely friends there!), but still.
Right now I need to take a nap; I have a lot of appointments with advisers today and coffee with a chick who is desperately trying to recruit me for Teach for America. Then I'll hopefully try yet again to see if I can be productive... or maybe just social. I haven't see Gemmel in forever and I feel like hanging out with him.
I also want to go to Sun Tong Luck with Carlos... too bad freaking food still tastes weird to me. -_-
OH AND BEFORE I FORGET, LOOK WHAT I MADE!
X-treme Christmas Greetings. :) The images are of me and three of my greatest friends. :)
