a romantic day with ... housemates

I bought a cute casual dress at Target today. It's somewhat odd -- trendy, even -- but it's really comfortable. It made me happy to finally find something new. *sings* But I still haven't found what I'm looking for...

Anyway, I figured since all I have to say is negative today and I have a headache and I'm feeling angry, I might as well write about the happy relaxation of yesterday so we can all enjoy that instead.

Going to Easton was a failure, but upon coming home I spontaneously asked Michaela if she wanted to hang out on the roof with me. She busted out some nail-polish and we proceeded to move various light-weight furniture out onto the roof, where we then we sat in our chairs painting our nails and getting honked at by passing cars. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we made a playlist for chilling on the roof.

After a small while Weifei came home and Kat poked her head out to talk to us. She invited us to all go swinging, but Michaela left with Joel so it was just the three of us. We walked down the end of Oakland and played lazily in the park until the sun set...

Once we got back I again returned to the roof and decided I would also paint my toe-nails. It got dark, so I put a big candle on my table, and soon Kat came back to talk to me. We visited until we saw Chris walking back from the store with a grocery bag in tow, and we then had a shouted discussion between roof and yard about what we were doing for dinner. Chris was apparently planning to cook, and when Chris cooks, everybody wins...

Needless to say our roof-top chilling quickly involved into a romantic three-person candelit dinner of home-made Italian food and wine. Chris came back with a cigar (making sure to keep it far from me) and the hours simply melted away.

Eventually upon admitting that we were all quite cold I came inside and took a candle-light shower. I sang the Greenwood chant over and over because it really challenges my lungs, especially if you avoid taking breaths between every verse. An added benefit was that it served to raise energy in me, and helped turn my energy as well as my mind toward spiritual things. I'd lit Cernunnos's candle and another in honour of the healer Brighid... and more time faded.

I emerged to a spontaneous invite to walk to Pochi's for bubble-tea.

Before I knew it I was outside again, this time lazily bundled in a soft soft sweater, and Hina and Weifers and I walked past Pochi and all the way down to the Gateway area. The bars and patios were flooded and happy drunks hit on us despite our lazy appearances... the one we can't stop laughing about was an excited young man who pointed at us and announced to his friends, "Three different girls! Look, there's an Asian, and a white one, and a...." and then he was past us, floundering for what to call Hina. Indian or Pakistani...? She's both, but he couldn't have known that.

Anyway, it was funny because we joke about the mixed composition of our house every time, but we've never heard anyone in public comment when a group of us goes outside. He was so amazingly pleased, too... *laughs*

It was a fun walk. Gorgeous weather, and it ended in an ice-cream cone.

Never let it be said that I don't appreciate good weather...
