Why it's so important - to let the right ones in...

I'm at my cuzin Stuie's place tonight.

Of the things he, Neil (roomie), and I, watched tonight, one in particular is worthy of recommendation & a post all it's own ::

A recent Swedish-made movie (we watched it with subtitles) ... and the best story I've yet experienced revolving around what Life would really be like for a vampire.

Neil described it as "a good 'dinner movie'", for those of you inclined to typically putting something on to watch while you dine or snack or generally chill-out.
Stuart's comment was, that for a low-budget movie, the producers obviously put what cash they did have into precisely the right special effect moments - with a wonderful mastery of cinematics and a play of subtly - and really put-forth something quite well arranged.
I agree with both of their assessments, and add that I feel this movie is a very poignant and "true to Life" - in the "what if" realm of story-telling - sort of tale. There were parts where we could sort of see where things were headed, could almost predict the next scene, but were still wonderfully satisfied or even a bit surprised by the outcome... it was that good.

This wasn't a movie I feel I can summarize the story for, because going into it knowing nothing about it and coming out with something was just so refreshing & satisfying for me that I hope - if you look into this film - you can approach it the same way:

Don't read a summary for the plot, or the film, or find out what it's about, or look-up photos, or trailers, or anything... All that you need to know as to whether your interest has been piqued enough to learn more - as in, want to go watch it - is this:

It's the story of a 12 year old boy. But also...
It's the story of a 12 year old girl - vampire.

If you'd like something refreshingly different, something a bit weird, something a bit sweet, something unexpected... I suggest you find & watch the movie "Let the Right One In".
