Rain is Love :: Family, Monopoly, & Thor

DUDE.

Totally overcast clouded sky day here, in ole' Warwick Valley.

It's what I mentally refer to as a "Monopoly Day" - my brother & I, and often my dad and sometimes my mom, would play board games (specifically classic Monopoly) on days like today.... usually setting up the card table outside on our big wrap-around front porch, listening to the rain and thunder, loving that smell the world has of rain and freshness and variety, and playing a board game for hours.

Or we'd be reading "Calvin & Hobbes" comics book collections, or reading, or something along those lines.

So much fun - family and the world and laughter and thought and general love of simple fun.

Some of my absolute best memories. Ever. :)

I wish my brother were here... we have a terrace at our apt. here - we could play Monopoly outside, and wait for the rain.

*Dude, seriously - the sky, all day, has looked like it's just waiting to s'plode, lol*

In light of all that, I challenged Brian to a game of his little Pirates boat/cards game; we've only played once, ever, so far. Hopefully we'll take some Time and play that today, or some other non-Nerf attack weapons game, lol. :D

OH!!!!! and Sean said he was going to try to remember to bring up all HIS board games this weekend! He said I could even keep them, since his brother & he don't play them anymore. I'm pretty psyched :)

My mom is coming to visit this weekend, too - Saturday night through Tuesday morning - and I took Monday off work so I can spend it fully with her :) I haven't seen her in months... I'm so psyched & happy I'll be getting to see her :D Maybe we'll be able to get some multi-person board games going, muwahhahahaa!

*general **squeeeeee!!!** of delight* :D

I'm happy today :)

WOOT!!! It just started raining!!! Thank you, Thor!!!!
