  • from my Grandma Sue :: I received a cute little note on GumNut Baby stationary (Australian) & a check for $50.00
  • from my Great Aunt Doris :: a very nice card
  • from BrianC :: a BIG birth day hug :D
  • from me to myself :: :D a very long, very hot bath*, lit by a few candles, with some quite "Nature Sounds" & Patrick O'Hearn music in the background, and a snack of Nutella & sun tea
*Note :: in the event that the tub mechanism does not, in fact, work, in order to close off the pipe & let the tub fill, use of a suction cup over the drain can work out really very well.
Later, watched the Firefly series movie "Serenity" with Brian, and the company of some re-heated pork lo mein & more sun tea.

    All in all?
I had a really wonderful and relaxing birth day, down to the last technical moment of the day and beyond. :)

Last night, during my awesome candle-lit hot bath Time, I realized something ::
The fewer expectations I hold for other people & for Life its self, the more simple joys I find.

I hadn't even thought about wanting anything for my birthday beyond maybe a hot bath.... and so i'm continually surprised and overjoyed to be getting well-wishes & cards & little gifties, lol!

This follows on the heels of a very calming realization I came to awhile back, being that
  • if I know what I want & am willing to put up with,
  • and I know what I don't want & am not willing to put up with,
  • and I simply follow this, in accordance with Honesty to my Self and my Soul and my Beliefs & Values - In other words, I'm True to my Self and live as I feel is Right -
  • then everything else is far more clear-cut and far more simple as to seeing how it should be handled or solved.

It makes dealing with every one and every thing that much more a positive part of the Flow of Things. It means I can have a sense of Peace, most of the Time. It's nice :)
